can you suggest any good ones
@tangent and the other question, how do you include them in your camera network. I started with z-wave which may be an idea or are there other good alternatives. Thanks
Depends on what you want to spend and what you want to cover. The DSC LC-171 is good for covering a fairly large area, the Bosch tri-tech outdoor is also good. Request to exit style detectors can work well for detecting motion close to your house, I've used the RCR-REX
@nayr uses the Optex OP-08.
If you want a cheap motion detector, there's a dual pir model you can get on ebay that's made by paradox (knockoffs/unbranded versions of the same thing may also be there). Search outdoor dual pir. It's only IP45 rated.

There are lots of ways you can use use motion detectors, but it depends on how you're recording. You can hook them to cameras with alarm i/o, i/o on an nvr, to a normal alarm system, to an automation system, or to an i/o device like sealevel that works with
blue iris.
I am working on my review of that camera, i've just been busier than I was expecting.
