note those cameras have no built in IR...
Yeah, thats fine. I have another camera with IR in the area and an external IR. This is for a somewhat odd location where I'm trying to place it on top of an out door lamp post due to HOA regulations in a townhome not letting me mount on the outside of the building :-\

I like the design for a mini indoor PTZ, (I would not use for outdoor based on all the forum discussion of domes being an issue), but the deal killer for me is no IR. I don't have the whole place lit up artificially all night long so I'll always need IR cameras.

if it is like you call, 'a deal killer', you do yourself short. It can be compared to, what you see with all consumer photo camera's. They all have built in flash which more often turn the pictures in 'terrible over lit and other aerea's under lit. Same with build in IR. When you are a serious Photographer you know those little flash units bring little, especially compared with the professional, external flash units. I am sure you all have seen ' em on television watching football in a stadion. These tiny flashes, trying to reach the playing field or the players. LOL. Save yourself the batteries.

Don't sell yourself short by not havin' a look at camera's which do not have build in IR. Might be a good idea invest in good lighting and shooting in color or in external IR Illuminators. They have proven to be so much better.

Nice range with a nice wide angle start FOV (112 deg). it then hands off to the 12x PTX starting at 58 deg 42212TNI. since it is a Dome, having the IR elsewhere would be better anyway, but doesn't it need a cut filter to work with IR?
