In the UK portal there is a new firmware version V5.5.4 171206 for G1 cameras like the popular 2CD2335.
It has a new web components version.
I have the following problems. The live view of the camera shows properly through the VGA/HDMI interface of the NVR, BUT it does not show OK through the live view of the web interface of the NVR or even through the web interface of the camera.
When I downgraded back to 5.5.3 firmware version all is OK.
The above has been tested with all the latest web components available from various cameras and NVRs and in various and different computers. So it seems that the UK 5.5.4 firmware version is buggy.
Anyone else with similar problems?

As I have one not yet mounted, I've just tested this using a DS-2CD2335FWD-I camera that initially had 5.5.3_171018 firmware, via a DS-7608N-E2/8P NVR with 3.4.96 firmware.
The initial working setup used IE11.0.9600 on a Win7 64bit VM with webcomponents 3.0.6.27 32-bit 22Aug17

I updated the camera firmware to 5.5.4_171206 without changing webcomponents and all was still OK on both camera and NVR web GUI.

I then updated webcomponents to the 3.0.6.33 27Oct17 version that came from the 5.5.4 camera firmware - and all was still OK on both camera and NVR web GUI.
Anyone else with similar problems?
So it does seem to work OK for me.
Did your test computers run Win10?
What was the version of webcomponents?
Is the camera a DS-2CD2335FWD-I ?

I tried on windows 7 and windows 10 computers.
I tried various web components versions like the one you mention that comes with the latest 5.5.4 firmware, or even the 3.4.96 that comes with DS-7616NI-I2/16P. Eventually I rolled back the camera firmware to 5.5.3 and kept the latest 3.0.6.33 web component and all is ok.
My cameras are indeed the model DS-2CD2335FWD-I. (I do not think there is a variant of this specific camera).
So yes, I have a strange problem.

Yes have only updated one camera to V5.5.4 171206, have no live view via camera web GUI or picture under configuration/ event/draw area setting for smart events.

I think it happened after I reset the camera back to defaults.

I wonder if its a bug or a new encryption item that no one knows about yet due to the woefull help files, i upgraded a 76 series NVR recently to the latest FW but due to the new encryption options i could not get live view via the NVR from the cams, eventually rolled back the NVR and all was well as i simply do not have the time to spend troubleshooting and confuguring various software to compensate

probably a bug somewhere but worth a consideration

Timeline
7-02-2018 camera received.
12-02-2018 updated to V5.5.4 171206
18-02-2018 reset to defaults and install WebComponents. V3.0.6.33
Live view and play back failed via camera web GUI and draw area settings had no picture.
20-02-2018 WebComponents roll back to V3.0.6.28. Still the same.

When I downgraded back to 5.5.3 firmware version all is OK.
What method was used to downgrade?

I simply upgraded (in fact downgraded) from 5.5.4 to 5.5.3 firmware through the web gui interface of the camera.
Downgrading between the various 5.5.x versions is allowed. Downgrading from 5.5.0 to lower versions is not allowed.

In general as I said the web components version does not cause any problems.

I upgraded from 5.5.3 to the 5.5.4 and haven’t upgraded web components yet. Web and BI views are okay. Did I say I love this camera’s low lux? I’m now taking a critical look at my other cameras. I think I can see another DHL truck in my future......
