I got a new Dahua camera and the firmware only has DH-SD1 for PTZ control. I am trying to get firmware with ONVIF but if I can't, is there any way to control it with DH-SD1?

I just setup a new Dahua SD12200T-GN camera last night and had a heck of a time getting the PT settings to work as well. Although mine has an ONVIF capable firmware. I ended up using the http video connection with Generic RTSP and the PT, and preset options work now. It is surprising how many different ways you can setup the video so it works great but the PT options don't.

The PTZ protocol (DH-SD1) is irrelevant to how external applications send PTZ commands to the camera. Don't worry about that.

I too have recently had trouble getting a Dahua PTZ to be fully operational with Blue Iris. The Network IP camera configuration panel has too many options and you never know which ones matter in which cases. If you're having trouble getting a Dahua PTZ camera to connect, this is how mine is configured. Note there are a lot of settings, particularly in this first screenshot, which matter a great deal. But I think "Discovery/ONVIF port" 80 may be the key to success. If memory serves, this was wildly incorrect by default.

The full "path" value is:

Code:
/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0&unicast=true&proto=Onvif

Thanks for the pics bp2008. Got PTZ working. My ONVIF port was wrong.
