@tangent the 12200t does have a built in mic.
ha ha so it does. I read the specs as a choice of input voltage (line/mic) and when I messed with the settings earlier I must have done something stupid in order to not notice (I had the flu at the time).

One is Zoom in, one is zoom out.
Cam very small, the phone is iPhone6 and the A46, and the sd1a203t-gn. I send @looney2ns a one today, he will make a full testing. Thanks for his supporting to us.

Does the black part come off? As I mentioned earlier I would need to paint it to be able to buy it. I'm not worried about the IR reflections as long as the IR can be turned off like most cams.

if you wont be using the built in IR, why not just buy the non ir version which is white

These look absolute great!! Not too much obtrusive and yet very practical in use being able to pan/tilt/zoom.

Not needing build in IR and all white seems aesthetically more appealing, so yes the SD12203T-GN seems the best route then. Very enthusiastic about these. I was looking/interested in the SD52C225-HNI but these little cameras may be more fitted or appropriate for domestic use. Probably doing no justice to the SD52C225-HNI comparing with these 'lite series' ptz, I am aware it is just another class and probably a huge difference, nonetheless. Maybe a better solution.

Thank you Andy for sending one to review on this board. Looking forward to the review from @looney2ns :headbang:

So with no IR, what are people using these for? Indoor cameras? Or outdoor cameras with external IR? I love the footprint, and with the streetlight nearby, this may work out....

It does not matter for still image photography or (surveillance) video, the quality of the image depends on the lightning/sensor sensitivity. I agree with most here that the quality of the IR (and as we speak about it, audio quality as well) of these dahua camera's is okay. At first I was not convinced but considering the ' price of the camera's, one can say the ' extra's, are just, okay. Is it good enough for you, only you can answer. Can it compete or be compared with external solutions. No. I think if you are honest it is something hard to debate about (although I understand people like to debate, just for the sake of it :)) Yes, you probably must be prepared to invest a little more but there are nice solutions to be found when you decide not to go with the internal IR or audio. Have to ask yourself if you can justify the extra cost. If you want to go that route (now or later) you might as well go for the 'non IR' version.

Considering the light sensitivity of these starlight camera's, if you have good (street)light in general, yes, you probably not gonna need the B/W mode.

I bought the SD12200T-GNwhich came with the plate shown in post #39. The only issue i had was that it came with a tool for taking the body apart but not for tightening/loosening the set screw for that plate so i just used a micro flat-blade screwdriver for that.

The set screw on mine was a normal Philips head screw.
