Hi All

Standing on the shoulders of @wzhick and with thanks to @Trax95008 for supplying the firmware, I have had a quick peek with the intention of changing the supplied audio files which aren't very user friendly.

Fortunately, it looks (at this point) like a fairly trivial exercise, the audio files are packaged in their own archive 'audio.tar.lzma' within the cramfs image and are readily identifiable as 8Kz, 16bit PCM encoded .wav files.

I'm going to have a bash at replacing a few of the files with my own audio and if successful I'll post some instructions.

Thanks,

Matt

Oh very anxious to hear more. :) Thanks for giving it a shot.

@aesterling, It doesn't matter the instructions would be the same for any of them. They are all rebranded Hikvision bells, all same firmware with different branding. :)
Thanks @4thmouse for clarifying, that’s great! I just ordered the LaView version of this doorbell and I’ll be curious what @mattbrian finds.

Hey @mattbrain ,

Were you able to get any further with this? I would love to give it ago myself if you can profile me with the firmware. Or if @Trax95008 could that would be great.

Look forward to hearing your feedback

Hello Matt,

I am trying to open audio.tar.lzma but failed. Do you have any instruction to extract it and repack it?

Thanks a lot,

Sylvain
