I just upgraded my Qsee NVR to a Dahua 5216 and was trying to use the old Qsee cameras.

The cameras did H265 and were adjustable with the Qsee NVR but are stuck in H264 with almost no adjustments with the 5216.

The Qsee cameras are:
QTN8086BA 8MP Bullet
QTN8059B 4MP Bullet
QTN8042D 4MP Dome

Does anyone know how these should be identified (set up) with the 5216 to get H265 and adjustments?

Thanks!

Hi Guppie,

The QTN8059B looks similar to a EZVIZ model I have seen

https://www.amazon.com/EZVIZ-Security-Weatherproof-Customizable-Detection/dp/B06Y1G7L22?ref=ast_p_ep

Thus now wondering if the OEM of that Q-see model is Hikvision

Hmm... I guessed if they were using a Dahua NVR they would be using Dahua cameras... but that Hikvision sure looks similar.

I'll try Hikvision settings and see if that works.

Thanks!

Just an update, I got side-tracked with a problem on one of the qsee 8086 cameras.

I was playing with the Dahua gDMSS app and after pressing the iris button the camera got locked into a manual iris mode. I couldnt figure out how to get the camera back into auto iris mode through the phone app or through the 5216 NVR (the picture was terrible in manual iris). I finally logged into the camera with the ONVIF device manager which let me switch the camera back to auto iris.

The ONVIF does allow me to adjust quite a bit of the settings but I still cant get any of the cameras into H265. I'll mess around tomorrow with some different camera mappings (Hikvision) and see what that does.

Thanks for your feedback!
