So this model comes in the
SD49225T-HN and SD49225T-HN-W

if a person can get the W for the same price, is that what you would do ? The W I assume can do both wireless, and poe ? You would still recommend this camera ?

I don't see anything in the specs that says the WiFi version also supports POE.

Finally got the cam permanently mounted.
Was pretty easy, I tied a lenth of rope on camera, then run it through the corner mount to hold it for me while I made the connections and tucked the wiring. Came out pretty good.

Add the corner bracket seems very nice, PFA151 make the installation looks very professional and can watch a bigger space.

I am very pleased with my SD49225T-HN, in that it provides the needed additional view when IVS activity is detected by the fixed cameras.

The one thing that I'd like to see changed is the minimum idle time when it does go to a preset other than the Park preset.
Currently the minimum is 1 Minute. I'd like to see that lowered to a 10 second minimum.

Can you go into detail how you set this up? Does the PTZ pan over to where the motion is from your other cams?

I'd like to get more use out of mine. I have 2 x 5231s on the front of the house as well as the 49225. Running Blue Iris.

To set up a PTZ call from a fixed camera, go into the setting and set up an IVS Event. As an example.

After the IVS Event is created, put a check mark in the "PTZ Activation" box and select "Setup"
You can then select the camera and PRESET that you want activated when there is an IVS Event on the fixed camera.
NOTE: that you must have the PRESET already established on the PTZ Camera.

The length of time that the PTZ CAmera remains on the area that the fixed camera called it to, will depend on how you have the PTZ Camera setup with returning to a PRESET after being moved.

Something that helped me with numerous fixed and PTZ cameras was to number the PRESET on the PTZ Camera to coinside with the number of the fixed camera that will be calling it. In the examples above, the fixed camera is #3. Note that camera #3 calls PTZ camera #1 and PTZ camera #4 to PRESET #3 when there is an IVS Event.

You can do this in BI as well. See the BI help file.

@weigle2 I don't think it's temperature; my sd59230u-hni routinely hangs out in the 130s-140s, especially later in the day when sun faces that side of the house--I'm not getting any blackout like you describe and the camera operates fine. If you're having display issues, one thing you can check is your video setting with regard to fps and iframe interval. The camera's default usually has the iframe interval set at double the fps. Try matching them (e.g. 20 / 20). This is particularly important if you use Blue Iris. (It's early AM with temps in the mid 60sF right now and my camera reports 105F).
Mine runs about 122 Fahrenheight even at night time when it's not moving. Southfacing in the daytime but this is 1AM and it still at 122 degrees. Hope that's normal. Just seemed high to me when I first turned on the temp indicator. I should know tomorrow what it gets up to when the sun is beating down on it.

Wow that is high. It gets quite hot around here, it may not do well in this area. I guess I will find out. I decided that I was going to add one to my setup even though I know most likely I won't be using the ptz functions

Is this the same camera as the 49225TNI model that's on B&H's website?

What purchase options are available for the 49225HN anyway? I thought if you buy from AliExpress it is a lot of trouble with warranty repair and warranty period is short(er)?

**update**
I figured out the main difference between the two is the 49225TNI is Dahua branded and has a heater where the 49225HN is not branded and no heater but is still made by Dahua. I just ordered the 49225HN from Andy.

Hoping you guys can help me out. I got my camera today and when I plug it in, I get an ip address (192.168.1.108) but I can't connect to it. Also the camera powers up, spins around twice then stops for maybe 10 seconds then spins around again. It does this over and over again. It is hooked to a Ubiquiti 8 port poe switch

Is the Ubiquiti switch POE+?

I thought it was. I just moved it down the the 16 Port POE+ Ubiquiti switch in the basement and it fired right up and I was able to connect. I guess the 8 port wasn't strong enough

I just got my new SD49225T-HN in from Andy and have it mostly set up but as a new Dahua user I need a little help understanding the firmware.
It came with 2.622.0000000.5.R, Build Date: 2018-02-07
but it appears on the Dahua download website the version there is 2.621...
So, do I have a newer version?
Also, when updating the fw, there are files, 1 NTSC, 1 PAL and 1 PTZ.
My camera came with PAL as the video format so does this mean when I update I need to update with the PAL version?
Also, what is the PTZ file, do I always need to update that?
Sorry for the questions but Dahua is a new brand for me.

You are using the latest new firmware, so no need to use dahua website one, we now all built the 2018-2-07 for the new SD49225T-HN, tomorrow i will drop the firmware here.

Best practice is, if it's not broke, don't fix it.
