I need to install a couple of cameras that will be approximately 400' from the NVR. I already plan on purchasing the ePOE Cameras but my NVR isn't ePOE compliant. Do I need do to do anything else or should this work? I plan to use the DH-IPC-HFW5231E-Z5E cameras.

to take advantage of epoe you need an epoe nvr...that said, while 400f is above the 328f spec of ethernet, it will work fine. Use quality cat 6 cable (and no CCA-copper clad aluminium garbage).
Alternatively, simply install a switch in between.

Thanks, I thought it would probably work but wasn't 100% positive. Working on my shopping list for these next 4 cameras which will all be mounted outdoors.
