Took a chance and ordered this one earlier this week. It arrived today in a generic brown cardboard box, but did include everything necessary, including the 12VDC power adapter. It had Hikvision v5.5.0 build 170725 firmware right out of the box. You get a choice of either a 2.8mm or 4mm lens when you order. Model number from the camera appears as IPC3442.
  • 4.0 Megapixels (2688 x 1520), 1/2.8” CMOS Sensor (2.8mm lens)
  • Easy Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) installation
  • IR night vision range up to 32ft (10m) in ambient lighting
  • Support On-board Storage, up to 128GB (SD Card Not included)
  • 5.ONVIF Compliant.

Looks like it is simply the 4MP version of http://a.co/ipfwCIr which is another Hikvision rebrand. I like that they're offering two lens options.

The 4MP Hikvision was almost $200 two years ago, and about $150 last year. Right now, it's $99, so getting this for $89 was a decent deal. If it ever comes down to the $50 price point, it will be an absolute steal.

I've been unable to get the audio or PIR sensor to work in BI, so I'm excited for smarter people to start buying these.

Is it really worth the cost diff over the $50 for the 2MP version, (when it can be found)?
Anyone have both to tell if the day video is so much better and the night video not too much worse?
Is it true 4MP?
Everyone around here always says given the same size sensor more MP is not better.

Hi Nbstl,

Think the major issue is the availability of the 2MP version at $50 ... would be nice to know more about the sensor besides the size..

I had the same issue with this camera, and it was due to the Hikvision 5.5.0 firmware. I downgraded to 5.4.5 and PIR worked fine within BI. I sent my findings over to the BI folks, but I didn't have any other 5.5.0 cameras to test with.

Can you share your config? I'm happy to take this to a new thread if its easier. Mine are both 5.4.5 now, so maybe I have something screwy.

Do you know if it can take US Hikvision firmware?
-chris
I don't know that Hikvision ever "locked down" these cube cameras, considering how many they OEM'ed through Annke and Hykamic. We could always load US firmware on those two re-brands, so I'd say "probably so" for this one, as well.
