So after the first (really) strong storm, I found that water had leaked into the camera housing. I used the PFB203W mount on a brick wall to get the camera lower than the soffit but it was less protected. I had never opened the housing as I did not install a sdcard. By the same token, I did not tighten the screws.

Anyway, I took the camera down, opened and allowed to dry and am testing. The seal appears to be very thin and only extends slightly lip of the housing. Fingers crossed that all is well.

Unfortunately, I did not note where the silica packets were placed. There is a long, thin packet with double sided tape that I believe was placed in the front half (with the windows) and a wider square packet that I believe was simply placed in the large gap on the electronics half.

My question is where does the long packet get placed? My guess is that it is stuck on the front half, above the main lens. However, I don't want to interfere with any mechanics. Thanks in advance!

I used double sided tape between the camera housing and the mount. I found it strange that dahua doesn't delivers a gasket to put between...
