Hi all,

I really need to say thanks for the excellent information on this forum.

After visiting the forum a few times in the last few years I registered when it was time to replace some ageing Hikvision domes in my Blue Iris setup.

Very glad I did! Based on the excellent reviews by @nayr and @looney2ns I went for 2 IPC-HDW5231R-ZE from @EMPIRETECANDY instead of the domes I intended to buy.

Blown away by the night view especially! Meanwhile, not unfamiliar to most of you I think, it turned into some sort of a hobby. Two was not enough and the system is now completed with another 5231-ZE as well as a VTO3211d-p2 which looks promising (thanks @int for your information on this).

Again a very prompt delivery by Andy.

Also many thanks to @Dasstrum for his Blue Iris tutorials which helped me bring the motion detection settings to a level where false alerts have been fully eliminated.
And many thanks to @bp2008 for UI3, which is truly beautiful!

Finally, many thanks to the contributors to the cliff notes and @fenderman

John, that is perfect, IPCT always a nice place with joy and knowledge, get a reliable system, this is very important. I will bring some cheaper models in soon, and can meet the low budget guys.

Hi @johz,

that's interesting - how exactly do you use the VTO3211d-P2 in your setup?

Still testing the VTO. Intended use is as second frontdoorcam at face height + video intercom.

Blue Iris records it, so that part is completed. Intercom function with VTH is working.

To do:
Looking at the push notifications but I would like to avoid the P2P part.

Trying to integrate the doorbell in my home automation setup.
