Are they blocked in your router from reaching the internet? -> no (to send emails)
Do you have ports forwarded in your router for remote access? -> yes
Do you have UPNP turned OFF in the cams and in your router? -> yes
All three should be yes.
what can i do?

I own three of the HDW5231R-Z cameras purchased from @EMPIRETECANDY over a year ago. When they were new I updated the firmware to 2.460.0000.7.R, Build Date: 2017-03-06. In general the cameras work fine and have not missed a day since installation. The night focus is not overly sharp compared to day time.

Is there anything to be gained by updating to the most current firmware?

hey guys, I have 3 5231's from Andy...have been working great up until now...one of them just dropped off the network completely after working perfectly in BlueIris for about a year..is it possible an auto update of firmware occurred and stuck it back on 192.168.. subnet? I'm on 10.0.1.xxx subnet...thoughts?

You make the upgrade on the webpage manually, drop off line or totally can't connected?

I had upgraded maybe a month or two ago manually...and everything worked great until one night ago...now totally can't connect...gonna try direct ethernet connection to cam i guess...the cam is installed in tough location, very high up so
hoping i can connect to it somehow....do you think it could be on different subnet? default ip ? 192.168.1.108?

Does the camera show up in the Dahua ConfigTool with a different IP? Which firmware version did you upgrade too?

Have you disconnected the power at the switch end (assuming it's easier access and you don't have an injector near the camera)?

I saw an issue on the very latest firmware here where the 3 5231 cameras I have would randomly drop the network stack so essentially lose IP network connectivity completely and a physical power cut was needed to bring them back. While that happened they'd all still be running and writing to microSD card though.

I went back to the November 17 firmware and they're all stable again now.

ok! got my 5231 that disappeared from network back---either the port on POE+ switch is toast or just needed a total power cycle from the switch...running firmware 2.460.0000000.16.R, Build Date: 2017-09-04
...seems kind of old...the 2018-03-30 one seems to be stable for you guys?

The reports seem to be 50-50 right now on the new firmware stability, based upon the two posts above.

Dahua doesn’t provide a change log so we don’t know what was changed other than people looking through the webpage to see if they notice any differences in configuration options or if there are any performance improvements and or issues.

This site has helped to mitigate my Upgradeitis issues!

Its best, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

I have multiples of the old (first) version of this camera (IPC-HDW5231R-Z) that I purchased from Andy in 2016/2017. What is the last stable version of the firmware that it can/should run? The last one I found was DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.460.0000.7.R.20170306

Does that sound right?
