The one you posted is from the USA website, the ones Andy sells will be listed on the Dahua International site.
Yes, they have different part #'s.
New models are typically available quicker than on the USA site/versions.

I just went through this with 3 new cameras from Andy, below is the link to the wiki page of the config tool and you have to initialize the cameras first, so the instructions with the 5231 cameras are outdated now.

Took a while to get all this together, and quite different than the camera I got a few weeks ago (same model) but they are up and running like awesome now, product is the same awesomeness!

This is the way of the future for Dahua's Cameras and NVR's, at least this way if there is a security issue or a firmware update you will have a choice to auto check if you ENABLE the option, No more guessing at firmware updates, bricked cameras or lack of sleep trying to figure this shit out, I have seen this on the North American region Cams and NVR's and it for sure will be working its way across the rest of the world markets at some point. Some have reported it here on the newer International Gear. Since the China region cameras are regurgitated Chinese into English firmware I would still Expect Dirt cheap cams and crappy or buggy firmware. If Dahua does it right, this in time might make it almost impossible for the cheap stuff to work out of region. Dahua has a lot of black eyes now for its business model but it looks like they are making a effort to clean things up.
I know this is an old thread but thought I would post here to help others. I am in no way a network expert but I had a devil of a time trying to find the cameras on the network and get them setup. Turns out I had to jump through a bunch of hoops involving changing the IP address of the computer to be able to see the cameras, changing their IP addresses, logging into them via their web IP address to assign a password and changing my computer's IP address back to original. Admittedly this took me a couple of hours to figure out as I initially thought it would have been simple to just plug them into the POE switch, do an ipscan and configure them. Tried using various Config tools as well but they would not work either without doing the steps I have outlined. This issue for me was not just with the Dahua cams but also with the one Hikvision camera that I purchased prior to finding this IPCAMTALK site and learning to go the Dahua route.
Anyways, I hope this helps any others that had networking issues like mine. This site I have posted below pretty much outlines what I had to do.

fyi this method is discussed 200+ times on this forum...however, both hikvision SADP and the dahua config tool can see cameras across subnets and there is no reason to use that method.

Struggling here guys. Got my new Dahua cam from Alieexpress. It is stuck on 192.168.1.1 and I need it on 192.168.20.1
installed the config tool but it is giving me a password error each time I modify the ip address. I have entered both admin and 666666 as user and password. What am I doing wrong?

How did you initialize the cameras? That wiki page doesn't explain...

It might have a password set or you may simply be using an old version of the config tool. Newer FW has a different process for the initial setup and password recovery.
Start by simply assigning the lan port on your computer a static ip in the 198.168.1.1 network. For example 192.168.1.10 / netmask 255.255.255.0
Plug the camera into your computer with a PoE injector or switch.
Then load 192.168.1.108 in your browser and set up the camera.

Hi Caligirl,
I just used the software listed in that page and had to make an account with them, once I did that I went through the software steps in that program. the stuff that ships with the cameras didnt work for me at that time.

I had the same problem with a Dahua IPC-HDW4231EMP-ASE hooked through a 8 port BV Poe switch. After I entered the 192.168.1.108 into blue iris address entry it finally showed up. Took almost a minute to come on. Now I’m trying to add a Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-ZE. It’s not coming up and I lost signal to the 4231. I’m thinking it has the same IP and I’m getting conflicts. What say you guy’s. I’m new to all this but learning.

you must change the ip on one of the cameras..you cannot have the same ip.
Thanks fenderman! I got the IP changed and all cameras are working. My next step is to try and figure out why video has such a lag and choppy. I’m only running 5 cameras (8 total soon) on a new HP i7-8700 windows home edition with the latest BI version. Although, the HD is solid state. I have a WD purple 2TB to install but not sure what to format it at. Any help with all this would be much appreciated. Forgot to mintion that the CPU only shows to be running at 12 - 15% on (only record when triggered). Thanks

ensure that the BI machine is connected to the same switch as the cameras not the router.
It’s at another location than where I’m at now. Tomorrow I am anxious to check that out. I’m almost sure the POE switch is going into the router. Thanks Fenderman for the fast response. This site is awesome.
