My suction cup stopped working on an el cheapo dashcam. I tried the most sensible solution and put it back up with silicone adhesisve. The adhesive failed recently after several months, now that it is warm. I felt silicone would work.

What else? Epoxy? Superglue?

I don't care too much if there is permanent markings on windshield as the car is a 2000.

Problem also now be removing 100% of the old silicone. Nothing will stick to that... Permanent solution would probably be rear view mirror adhesive. You can get tiny kits of it at any auto parts store.

All kidding asie (you were kidding right !!?)

Of course, the suction cups were probably meant to make it easier to take it in and out of the car with you. So now they'll probably steal your dashcam!

I used locktite outdoor adhesive after removing the suction cup and sanding the glass (firmly, the moh scale for that is nearly same) and ring left on suction cup body. It is ON there now!

You might want to try using vegetable glycerin on the suction cup. Less permanent than a bolt but a lot easier to use.

3M VHB vehicle adhesive tape (Not the foam type) that's what is used for Blackvue cams. Never had an issue.

I mount all my dash cams to the rear view mirror. Run your power cable up the sides of the trim where it is hidden. Looks more professional than those cheap stick on suction cups and wire hanging around. I have not used this mount, because I buy cams that come with their own mirror mount.
