New house construction. Don't want white mounting boxes on outside of log siding. Has anyone been able to mount turret or dome cameras to plastic or metal round junction box behind exterior wall?

Yes. If putting siding on top, you just need a 3/4"+ to 1" hole to the junction box - remember to get one with enough volume to hold the connections.

I like to ensure there is enough material next to the box to securely hold the camera with longer screws ( example, stud on one side of the box - and use longer screws on that side only )

Log siding. Would like to see the finished result.

Do you camera mounting holes line up with the junction box holes?

Hi Blake,

No. The only junction boxes which will align with the cameras are those made for the cameras.

You can also consider using the wall mount for the turrets - PFB203W/204W

Trying to stay away from any exterior mounting additions for a real clean look. I'll just have to do a mock-up and see if I like it. Thanks Mat.

Remember to consider painting the case to match the house
