So your suggesting just standard flood lights that are dusk to dawn and leave the cameras in daytime mode?
Yes, They dont have to be standard flood you can install something nicer. Include a switch to power on/of so you can install a smart switch that will calculate sunrise sunset. Those dusk dawn sensors on the lights themselves all eventually die.
Thanks @fenderman... when you say nicer, what do you mean exactly? Can you provide a link to something so I can see what you're referring to? I like the smart swit h idea! The only reservation I have about using floods is that they may provide light into the bedroom windows at night. My wife needs it pitch black.
Any outdoor fixture you like, as it's controlled by the switch.. you can put powerdul bulb in then adjust using the dimmer function of the switch if need be....
This is probably going to be the way I need to go. My wife is opposed to having the flood or landscape lights on all night long in consideration for the neighbors. With the light you provided a link for, can the IR illuminator be controlled separately from the flood light? If not, I'm going to need to find the best way to use IR illuminators and the best camera for night vision that is also capable during the day.
Nope, IR comes on automatically at less than 10%
