Is anyone still successful using their LTS/RCA/LaView/Nelly/EzViz account to log into Hik-Connect app? Mine broke a few weeks ago as it kept saying it was wrong userid/phone number so seems like Hik disable backend cloud integration or something as the same account could log into all the apps in the past. I prefer using the Hik-Connect app as they've incorporated feedback that I submitted to the app developer that is not a feature on the other apps.
tried a password reset? I think I did that short while ago

Yes, I did that a week ago. The user account is fine as I still use it with all the other apps. It's that the account user id is not being accepted by the Hik-Connect backend service. I also have a separate Hik-Connect user account which can still see my cameras from the other apps just fine but the problem is I don't get access to view the alert videos captured by motion detection. Weird thing is the Hik-Connect app icon badge count increments when new alerts are triggered which means it is still somewhat passing along the info but going into Hik-Connect app shows zero messages. Once you log out or close app, the app icon badge count goes back to zero like normal. Unfortunately, I only have Hikvision rebranded Annke cube camera, rebranded EzViz NovaS camera, rebranded RCA video doorbell so calling Hik USA tech support was out of the question on the rebranded serial numbers.

since i got both rca and laview doorbells a few months ago i had tested them extensively. your problem of not seeing the replay clip captured by motion detection but saw the alert counted up was that your doorbell logged out of your phone app (most likely it appeared offline on your phone app) but did not log out of the hikvision backend server.

all you need to do is remove the camera from your phone app and add them back. most of the time for me the scanning QR code did not work and it's troublesome to remove the front screw and cover. and I hate resetting the camera to default setting. instead normally i use the manual adding feature, then add Serial number when the camera just came online (repeat adding serial number when it's offline until it comes online). then use the verification code to finally add the camera back to the phone app.

this manual adding feature only works just after the camera gets rebooted. if the camera is running without reboot then the phone apps always says offline. normally you need to reboot it by cutting of the power or rebooting it from IVMS-4200 app on computer.

The reason i know this is because my transformer only has 16Vac and 10VA. Each doorbell camera has maximum of 12 Watts, equivalent of 12VA. When running only 1 doorbell it was perfectly fine. when running two doorbells at the same time either one or both got disconnected and got trapped into the boot loop. they have both the 171219 firmware. I remembered someone mentioned the firmware fixed boot loop problem but apparently it did not in the underpowered condition. usually during day time both doorbell camera ran fine even with motion detection triggered. but every night when the IR got turned on, especially when both IR and motion detection got triggered, both cameras got trapped in the boot loop rebooting endlessly.

for some reason i could not log onto RCA security phone app with the same credential. i could only use the same credential for hik-connect app and laview app.

i need to find the location of transformer and replace it with 16Vac and 30VA.

I think my problem is a little different. Since everything is working fine for a couple of months now with the other rebranded apps, I don't want to remove cameras and reinstall within Hik-Connect app.

Previously=> I can use same primary credential for both Hik-Connect and the other apps(Ezviz, RCA, etc) until about 1.5wks ago
Current=> I can't use that same primary credential that still works fine for the other apps but not recognized by Hik-Connect login server
Temporary workaround=> I use my alternate Hik-Connect credential to view the cameras BUT that new account I created last week can't view the replay clips b/c Hik-Connect complains that cameras are in use by another user(my primary account that used to work on all services). I may just ditch the Hik-Connect app even though it is more feature rich than the rebranded apps unless Hik brings back that "single sign-on" like service.

Is it at all possible to hook into the button yourself? Like a callback? One that hopefully doesn't go through the cloud...

Interesting video event yesterday. Amazon delivered a package around noon, but the camera and Blue Iris did NOT record it. Add to that, their order status page said the package was lost in shipment. One frame, the steps are clear, and the next frame there's a package there. I think it might be a glitch in The Matrix or something. :idk:

was the time stamp frozen prior to the package appearing? or did it jumped seconds/minutes?

I just had a chance to review the video in BlueIris, and there is a 3-second gap before the package appears. Very strange.
what firmware do you have? i had the 171114 originally and it occasionally had a few second gap in the motion triggered video. after upgraded it to 171219 i did not see any more gap in time. maybe firmware plays a big roll here.

I guess still no luck from anyone on getting a copy of the elusive Laview FW 180419 and its changelog. Wonder if there is there a FW dump tool for the video doorbell to extract or copy similiar to the Hik brickfix...

The smart phone app allowed me to update my rather ancient doorbell firmware this morning, from v1.4.61 build 170907 (I told you it was ancient!) to v1.4.62 build 171218. I wonder how many more updates I can expect, now?

Update: The "update" wiped out my WiFi connection data so now the device is offline until I return home after work. :(

Anyone know how to force the wifi configuration? I deleted the device from my phone app, scanned the QR code from the original card, and it recognized it, but it will not let me do anything with the wifi settings. :( :( :(

Looks like it changed the MAC address (AGAIN?!?) so my DHCP assignment failed. Found its IP address and at least the new version has a web GUI.

I finally got around to installing my used RCA doorbell camera I snagged for super cheap off ebay. Was supposed to include everything but according to the book it was missing a few pieces. The installation went fairly well after I improvised the parts I was missing. It did take a few tries to get it connected on the wifi but I did update the firmware. Camera looks great during the day but at night I have horrible IR glare, some of this might be caused by a barely noticeable scratch. I don't even need IR lights as I have sufficient lighting by my door. So as it stands it will stay in place as the daylight picture is great and I'm hoping eventually they will release a firmware allowing me to disable the IR.

Has anyone attempted to make a digital chime work with this? I know officially it's not possible, but I was wondering if it's just because Hikvision doesn't include the additional electronics that would make it work. Maybe with some added parts on the wires before or after the doorbell camera, it could work? For example something like the "Chime Connector" from Nest or the "Digital Doorbell Adapter" from SkyBell. I really don't like my current mechanical chime, it buzzes and if I make the buzz go away by adding the resistor, there is not enough power left at the chime and it rings very weak. I already have a spare digital chime and it would be great if I could put it to use.

Have you had any luck with this? Ideally I'd like to hook this up to my current home automation setup

No. Based on the discussion here I'm skipping any camera doorbell for now and will instead implement a solution that works on the current bell and chime's circuit level (using sensors etc).

Interesting, I was thinking of putting a relay or something instead of a chime and triggering events that way.

Interesting, I was thinking of putting a relay or something instead of a chime and triggering events that way.
I ended up using the relay mentioned previously in this thread to detect a doorbell press. Works great.

I went a bit further and use a z-wave MimoLite device to allow me to turn the chime on and off. I have a resistor and the chime in parallel. The MimoLite relay is acting as a switch for the chime's branch. The resistor branch keeps power to the camera even when the chime is disabled. I'm sensing the voltage increase across the resistor with the relay which triggers the digital input of the MimoLite regardless of if the chime is bypassed or not.

It was then really easy to write rules such as:
-Turn off chime when not home so we don't annoy the dog, but still notify me
-Turn off chime, but blink a lamp during designated quiet times when baby is sleeping
-Turn off chime during certain times unless pressed 2 times within a minute, but more than 10 seconds apart (ignore delivery drivers essentially... someone persistant will still chime)
-Turn off chime at night
-Save a picture from the camera when pressed to the automation system log
-Play a sound on Sonos so we can hear chime in parts of house that can't hear the chime
