Honestly, unless your pulling huge runs I dont think it really matters. I have never seen a difference.
What the heck is wrong with this post? It states an opinion, and an honest, factual observation. He did not say "there is no difference", but rather "I have never seen a difference". No conjecture, and no Bull Shit. If somebody disagrees or has more to offer, say it. What's with all the personal attacks on this forum?

You seem quite emotional but have not answered my questions. Perhaps that is too hard for you, if not, take a shot at it. I'd love to hear an actual scientific answer from you.

You chose instead to engage in ad hominem attacks against me. " I am stupid" "I have a stick in my butt" "I throw BS" etc.

This may not be "Rocket Science" as your clever follow up response stated, but my challenged friend, it is science. And not just your emotional statement that "ALL OF THEM WORK".
That's not supportable. I make decisions based on science and my experience. Numerous other folks here do as well and I for one enjoy knowing the minute details of how it works.
You may not and think that any old cable is fine. My experience in data centers would disagree. Sure you may never "see" the problem with an inferior cable in a home install that requires very low throughput today, but what about tomorrow? Good cable is not that much more expensive. And since it is logical to assume bandwidth requirements will increase over time, why not actually look at specs and use the best you can afford today?

One of the things I admire about this forum is it calls out BS. And your anecdotal statement that "THEY ALL WORK" is BS. Unless you can prove otherwise.

ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. Don't go on another emotional rant.
First, your response was complete uncalled for to begin with. It was plainly rude. This post has never asked for your level of detail. You are not the OP. I have said what needed to be said and that is all. Hope you get help with your anger issues.

You are correct. I just would like to qualify the opinion. But you are still correct.

CAT6 will be fine and a wise choice for everything; for the price difference future proof your installation, voice, data and CCTV. CAT5e will do 1gb connection up to 10m/30ft after that you have to have CAT6. CAT6a is a bit over the top. If its for yourself and long term CAT6 every time. If your an installer wanting to make some brass use CAT5e as your unlikely to be around when the client wants 1gb connection as they use the cable for something else (to quote "well its not what i have installed it for"). Absolutely have to have in any choice Full Copper not CCA cheap Chinese which is copper coated aluminum which will often break on installing too as well as under perform. All the best.
