Hi guys!

I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this question but since my home and offices' set up are all HIkvisions (combos of 2332 and 2432s on IVMS pcnvr) I thought I'd place this question here in this sub- forum.

Anyway, my question is about the ability to remotely open/close my garage doors using the built -in switching relay similar to what some of the Foscam units come with. I understand that the 2432's come with alarm relays but so far I've not found any info that these can also be used as switching relays nor do I have the guts to try one and burn it in the process.
I know I can use something similar to this or this but I'd like to keep it simple without actually using a Foscam as an alternative. I do have a cube already set up in the garage though.

Thanks for any info guys.

Hello Sakuji, you can look here how I/O works on the 2432 cube
http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php?1880-DS-2CD2432F-IW-I-O-terminal
I used a little relay module something like this from ali or ebay for simplicity
http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/ctLPqZ44[/QUOTE] Hey Peter Thank you very much for the links!. Is it possible if you can make here a mini- diy step-by-step on how did you do it on your side using that small relay? Like what cam did you use (cube?), how you hooked it up electronically, and how you control the switching. That you very much and i do appreciate it.

Hello Sakuji, I was referring to the camera you have DS-2CD2432F-IW since you wrote 2432.
They have no built-in relay but instead a small signal active low output.
With the example relay module in the above link you connect supply to DC+ and DC- on the module.
Lets say you have the 12V relay module so the same supply voltage as the camera itself.
Set the jumper on the module to active low.
On the back of the camera is a 3-way terminal labeled I-G-O
Connect a wire between G on camera to DC- on module
Connect a wire between O on camera to IN on module.
Hikvision has an app IVMS-5500 which is free and
also iVMS-4200 for PC to start with.

Got it. Though obviously i'm no EE expert since i can't distinguish between a built-in relay and an active low output signal. :sad2:
Anyway, atleast i think I got the wiring scheme thanks to your description but since I'm using an active poe switch to power the cam I guess i need to tinker a bit carefully so as not to burn anything.

Just to clarify, I do use the ivms 4200 as local pcnvr and the ivms 4500 for remote viewing. My question is how do you exactly control the switching of the relay on 4500? Is it through the Alarm Push Notification/Alarm Output Management? Like what to push on the 4500 to trigger the relay. I'm sorry for the noobie question coz I've not really played around with the Alarm I/Os of the Hikvisions.

Thanks again.

I think there is some kind of bell-icon among the small icons that you see in the lower
portion of the display when in live viewing.
Just press it and it appears some switch to toggle on/off.

I'm not sure. I thought that bell-like button is to arm/ de-arm the alarm settings for the camera. Not 100% sure though how this works coz I've not really played with this alarm stuff.
I've already ordered 2 pieces of that relay you posted. For 1.58 usd each (shipped) it is cheap enough to try some tinkering even if not 100% that it will work.

Thanks very much for your guidance. I really do appreciate it. Will keep this thread posted of my outcome since I really want the Foscam like feature of relay triggering.

Thanks again.
