VLC rtsp not working...

So I'm trying to get rtsp working, and testing with VLC...

I seem to be able to connect, but there's basically garbage coming through. The basics of the image come through - kind of like a chalk sketch? But it's NOWHERE near a real stream.

And it's not really updating the screen... Any ideas what might be going amiss?

I'm just doing rtsp://ipaddress

And it does come back and ask me for username and password...

If you have Smart codec enabled disable it...

I think I just figured it out...

"In Input & Codecs Settings, in the Network area, change the Live555 stream transport option from HTTP (default) to RTP over RTSP (TCP). "

And I changed the caching to 1200ms.
