I suspect that my only option is to force a new firmware update and reset config?
Or if the IP address really has changed - sniff the network traffic when powering on one camera to see what broadcast or other clues (if you have port replicator capability in your switch) may exist - Wireshark.

Thanks alastairstevenson, I've tried all method of IP response software including Wireshark to no avail. The beast lays dormant!
Has anyone updated/fixed one of these cameras via new firmware and SDK tools?

Thanks

That would suggest it's not a changed IP address, and fixing up firmware from the outside is likely not possible.

Can you do a wireshark capture on startup with just the PC and camera connected to a switch, no other devices?

thanks alastairstevenson, well talk about surprise.. Last night I did as you asked ans started up wireshark and hooked up one of the Dud cameras directly to the POE hub and to the laptop. No arp messages looking for any similar IP address was found.. I left everthing as was and left it until this morning when I thought i would at least provide you with evidence of my disappointment. This time I attached one the working cameras just to verify what i should be seeing when all is working well. Then I re attached the "dud" camera looking for similar things. Well surprise surprise up comes this Request for 192 .168.1.10 which as you know is the factory default IP for the camera!! I honestly did not see any such message originally. Can it be that an extended time directly connected to the maybe slightly higher voltage POE Hub as opposed to the normal 40 meter + voltage from the NVR has somehow reset the config?? I setup CMS and up came the camera just like new! I have attached copy of Sniffer screen snap.

I suppose many things are possible - but that's got to be unusual.
If the cameras have all 3 been somehow reset to defaults (any chance of external access from the internet being the culprit?) are they all still connected and powered on?
That would confuse the networking with an IP address conflict.

There was some confusion about IP addressing .. I had the NVR doing a default weekly maintenance reset every tuesday which I have since removed. One camera, the one thats been revived, would come back with a different address even though the DHCP is off and there was no conflict in the first place! The NVR picks up a IP conflict immediately it wont let you attach anything causing a conflict.

I did a firmware update on the NVR but that camera still did the same thing afterward. In fact it looks like its existing problem has been magnified after one of those default resets .. Does that make sense?
.
That revived camera is still acting strange. I changed its address and attached it back on the NVR. Runs OK switches to IR OK but it takes 3-4 minutes to "click" back online every time its removed. Its other healthy brothers take less than a minute to do that. I similarly tried again to revive the other 3 Dud Techage cameras to no avail . Whats your views on trying a firmware update on the revived camera?

It does sounds like the camera firmware is a bit bugged.
But whether an update would help things is guesswork - unless there is a helpful changelog.
I'd certainly experiment a bit - but I have the time and inclination to do so.

Should I be looking for a 'changelog' somewhere? The only log I have on NVR is an 'Info" area which logs a few basic things which I have'nt considered too be useful thus far.

I have replaced a couple of android ROMs in the past, Not sure if thats going to be useful for whats ahead. In any case I'd be very appreciative of whatever info you could pass on. Also I would guess that considering the popularity of these beaut good value, great performance Hi3516D based cameras there might be a few other people looking in with interest..
