Alarm input plugs (DAHUA)

Hi guys,

I am trying to set up alarm inputs on my Dahua NVR and found this great tutorial: Troubleshoot/NVR/Alarm Null - Dahua Wiki

The only issue is I don't have the green adaptor that plugs into the back of the NVR to accommodate the Alarm input wires.

Does anyone know what this thing is called and where I can get one?

What model is your NVR? Post a picture of the back.

Mine is a Hybrid DVR1604HF-U It has inputs the same as the attached image without the green adapter, which is what I need.

There are lots of places you can get them, but they come in different sizes. In your picture your picture above you could accommodate a 12 position plug, but that isn't a photo of your dvr. I think your dvr has 10 or fewer positions from photos I found. I'm not sure what size dahua uses most often, but there's also variation in the pitch (distance between the pins) and in exactly how the two parts of the connector come together.

You can get them from electronic parts suppliers like digikey with a very wide variety or from places like eBay and AliExpress.
I'm not sure, but based on an image you probably need 0.150" pitch.

Hey Tangent, apologies this technology is all new to me, I didn't realise there would be so many variables, I have attached the images like I should have done in the first post. Thanks again for your input. So I am guessing the name I am looking for is " Terminal Plug, Terminal block plug "

Looks like 10 position, 0.150" pitch just like all of the products I linked above. Ebay and AliExpress are cheapest once you factor in shipping and people primarily sell the most common products..

DigiKey has the broadest selection, but some of their products WILL NOT work with this DVR you'd need to look at the specs, drawings, and photos carefully if you order there. Shipping adds to the cost with digikey, but is often included at ebay and aliexpress.

Do you still need these? We have tons in a box somewhere? If so, PM me with you address and I'll have our team ship them. You may need to take a pic of the back of your recorder. Some blocks are 12 position, some are 10 and some are 8

That looks a bit different. It kind of looks like those may just be spring loaded terminals with no plug.

Possibly. Try pressing up, down, or inwards on the part that stick out the most. You could also try pulling it gently towards you, it might just be a filler plug of some kind.

A photo from a more direct angle would also help.

The manuals are often written so they apply to many products. When a wire is properly inserted into the spring block it should stay if you pull on it gently.

I'm looking for a connector block for an NVR5216-4KS2 (no POE). Has anyone bought one before, or know where to get one? Maybe have a Digi-Key part number handy?

Also, what are the meanings of the different symbols? Thanks.

It should have come with the NVR. Try to look in AliExpress

The bottom row is your alarm inputs and the funny symbols are your grounds. From your alarm device you will have two wires, a NO or NC and a COM (common). The NO or NC wire will go the the slot with the number and the COM will go to the ground. The top row where it says n - c is your form C alarm outputs 1 & 2. Use these as NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed) dry contacts. You can program the out puts in the settings menu to be NO or NC. The A&B are PTZ controls for old analog PTZs
