I did not know about the M12 connector version of Ethernet. It looks like the 4 pin is a standard, but the 8 pin is not. this appears to be a 6 pin version to a terminal block. I assume that it comes with a cable between them of some length and the user is to hard wire at the terminal block to a CAT 5 wire?

Wow very interested. Been considering adding dash cams to our cars for driving evidence and parking lot BS.

Just checked the price, i think can do around at 160usd with shipping. Not sure if this can be a good one or not, other brand much cheaper, i think the dash cam in IP not big sense? @TechBill

@EMPIRETECANDY

I do Uber and Lyft driving on the side and I been looking for a good dashcam to do front and interior of the car that can see pretty good in the dark without IR.

I will research more on it and let you know

Thank you

Also to add - the M12 connector is somewhat standard in industrial environments. There are both 4 and 8 pin M12 connectors but this appears to just have the 4 pin variant. Nothing wrong with that - its just limited to 10/100 speeds, need 8 pin for gigabit. You can fine adapter cables online that are 4 pin M12 to 8 pin RJ45... They just do not give enough info on it yet. Would be helpful to see a manual for it to see what sort of options you have for recording. Would have been nice had they included a wireless ethernet ability. Pull up at your home/work and it auto connects to your network and dumps the recorded video to your NVR would be handy. I do som work with an ambulance service and could see this being something that I could sell. I've not looked into 12V NVR setups but I'm sure there are some out now. I've worked with a few analog 12V DVR's though.

Even the picture of it is too dark to really see much detail. Here it is with the shadows pulled back.

I currently run various dashcams with the Sony IMX291 in (Mini 0906, Viofo A119s) in the the car and then a couple of Street Guardian cams with the older Sony IMX322 which isn't quite as good at night time (although they also have an IMX291 camera).

They've been great - the Mini0906 I'm still running is the factory sample that is over probably 18 months old now and it's still fantastic quality!

It will be interesting to see how this goes, but assuming both lenses are in the same package I'd have to assume this is more for taxi drivers and commercial drivers etc.

This works well for regular folks as well. It can prove you were using your seatbelt or not using a cell phone when an officer claims otherwise. It can also capture activity out of the side windows that a rear window camera cannot.

Here is my A119s Daytime & Night time $60 Please post results of the $160 Dahua when you get them.

Apples to oranges. The dahua is a dual lens camera which adds to cost. Additionally its a NETWORK camera that supports onvif and rtsp. It is designed to be used with their mobile NVR's.

I was just interested in the quality especially at night time. No matter what features it has its advertised as a "DASHCAM" and what most people look for is video quality which the A119s has with 1080p@60FPS. If you need dual lens buy 2 A119's :). If I want home network camera I would buy a Home CCTV like my brilliant Huisun IMX291 20x PTZ.
You again misunderstand. Your citing the price difference. And i am explaining the price difference to you. Hopefully your viofo doesnt fail like those shitty Huisun cameras that were unloaded by China scammers and their cohorts like you on this forum. Huisun is crap and should be avoided at all costs. USELESS as a surveillance camera.
2 a119's will NOT perform the same function as a dual lens camera - see my post above. Again you misunderstand basic functions.
