How to disable this recursive message ?
That message can't be disabled. I understand that it is irritating, but the alternative is to simply allow the stream to become more delayed and pretend that everything is okay.

What do you mean by ‘…allow the stream to become more delayed’ ?

Witch setting ?

I've had BI for 5 or 6 years now. I really like the new UI3 and haven't had any problems with it on a nine year old Dell Latitude laptop, two <3 year old desktops, or my ASUS tablet, all running Chrome, until I bought a new Surface Pro (Win 10 Pro, i7). It won't load the 4 cameras I have in any of the h.264 streams in Chrome. (I've reinstalled Chrome with no effect and disabled all the extensions). The circle goes around and around and after a minute or so, the four cameras DO display for no more than 3 seconds and then it pops up a message in the lower right that says, "Video delay has exceeded 60 seconds, the stream is being automatically reinitialized" and the circle starts again. The JPEG streams work fine. Since these are all coming from the same BI desktop (server) 16GB, i7 running at 15% CPU with BI the prime reason for it being on at all, I cannot figure out what is different about the Surface Pro. All desktops, the laptop and tablet are each running PIA vpn and Bitdefender although disabling them on the Surface doesn't seem to affect anything. This sure seems like some UI3 setting on the Surface, but comparing it with the others I find no differences. What am I overlooking or what can I do? (I'm half expecting a 5 word answer that solves the whole problem)

Antivirus/antimalware services can sometimes hold streams hostage which can cause problems like you describe. Jpeg video isn't a continuous stream so it would work when H.264 does not.

Have you tried the other H.264 player options?

Yes I have tried all the other players with and without the NaCl extension enabled. I just disabled the Bitdefender protection again. No joy. Maybe I'll try uninstalling it altogether and see how that works with Windows Defender alone. But still ALL the other clients I have and two more since I wrote the above work just fine. I'm lost as to what is different. One of the other two devices I tried was a 4K TV with an HTPC on it. Worked great. Thought maybe the 3000x2000 Surface was the difference. Nope. Willing to try almost anything at this point. Yes, I have the JPEG stream to fall back on, but...

You could try using default.htm in Internet Explorer. That uses the same video stream as UI3 but it is a totally different page and browser so it might tell us something if it has the same problem or not.

Same result although slightly different presentation. After installing the ActiveX control and then reloading from IE, it says Connecting, then Unable to Connect. What does that tell us?

My guess is that something between the browser and Blue Iris, most likely on your tablet, is grabbing the incoming streams for a virus scan and never letting them go because they never end.

Yes that's what I'm thinking too. Dang. At least there is a work around. Thanks for your help

Found it!i
We're in that time of year when the next Bitdefender (2019) is installed on new devices instead of the 2018 that is installed on the four other devices I currently have that apparently haven't been automatically updated. When I uninstalled BD 2019 from the Surface, UI3 worked just fine. I should have remembered that the same thing happened a year ago when I was installing PIA vpn on everything and it was disconnecting after a period of time. Eventually BD admitted and fixed their issue. I'm not sure what it was. I'll see what happens in the coming months as it installs itself on my other devices. There's not an easy way to keep it from doing that, but I think I'll look into it further AND contact them about the problem. Again, thanks for your help and thought you'd want to know the resolution.

hi,
In alerts tabs >> Filter alerts by >> I only have "All cameras" and my camera groups. I don't have individual cameras in the dropdown list.

I'm pretty sure that's the way it has always worked (the drop down menu filter only shows camera groups) but all you have to do is click on the camera feed that you want to filter by and then only those alerts will be shown for that camera.

ah ok... in UI2, the single cameras were displayed in the dropdown menus

It isn't completely out of the question to add all the cameras to the dropdown menus, but I don't like how long it makes the list, particularly if it causes a scroll bar to be added.

As I have only 5 cameras .. it is not a problem for me but you are right if you have a lot of cameras it can be problematic.. maybe put a limit to the dropdown list.

I have almost 30 cameras and 17 groups already, so adding the individual cameras would make the drop down menu too long to weed through for me. Since I've always just selected the camera I want to see the clips and alerts from, I don't see a need to add them to the list as well. That's just my $0.02.

Just wait, yeahman. Adding cameras is an addiction and you'll have 5 more cameras in no time! There's always the need to get an additional angle on things or keep watch over funny stuff like cats and dogs misbehaving! With the prices dropping and the ease of adding new PoE cameras into BI, these things seem to start growing on their own.
