Below is an excerpt from a PayPal page entitled "How Seller Protection can help support your business". Keep in mind that Andy is the 'seller':

_________________________

"What is Seller Protection?

PayPal Seller Protection is a policy that can protect your transactions from chargebacks, reversals, and their associated fees. This means that if you sell something to a buyer, and they dispute or reverse the transaction, you may be eligible to retain the full purchase amount and avoid any related chargeback fees paid (for debit and credit card-funded transactions).

How to be eligible for PayPal Seller Protection.

To be eligible for PayPal Seller Protection, you must meet all of the following requirements.
•The primary address for your PayPal account must be in the United States.
•The item must be a physical, tangible good that can be shipped.
You must ship the item to the shipping address on the transaction details page in your PayPal account for the transaction. If you originally ship the item to the recipient's shipping address on the transaction details page but the item is later redirected to a different address, you will not be eligible for PayPal Seller Protection. We therefore recommend not using a shipping service that is arranged by the buyer, so that you will be able to provide valid proof of shipping and delivery."

_________________________

My point? To provide some protection for himself as a seller, Andy is following the rules set forth in his agreement with PayPal. It is NOT the seller's responsibility to insure the information contained in the 'shipping address' as held by PayPal is correct or that it is what the buyer desires, IT IS THE BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY !!

Wasn't sure what it was so I looked it up

A trunk slammer is an unprofessional IT "consultant" who is really just an amateur working out of the trunk of his car. This personal is generally untrained and got into computer support because it looked like fast, easy money.

I agree that it is impressive what Andy is trying to do to take care of this. Go to a store around here and order something see how much they offer to take care of the situation. Or better yet like someone else said call a Chinese company that messed something up and try explaining the situation. It's not as difficult as it is being made to call these places and get things fixed. Mistakes suck but Damn man its not the end of the world. Lets take a look back and see how this could have been avoided from the beginning. FIX YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT AND ANY OTHER THAT YOU ARE USING TO SHIP ITEMS!!!!!!!! Your pissed at him for ACCIDENTALLY shipping to the wrong address when you need to be pissed at yourself for not correcting the main issue of your ship to address. I had this happen to me and it took a little bit of work but they finally got my address changed. Sounds like your lazy.......... Oh and as to Banning you from this site...........Well that's just funny to me. STOP LOGGING INTO IT problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't even ordered anything from Andy YET but he has taken the time to answer and respond to all of my questions when asked. I will definitely be ordering from him soon though.

Bad stuff happens, and people suffer consequences they shouldn't have to. I'm sorry it happened to you, but it's also a normal part of life. Last week, we just got a $2k piece of furniture we waited 3 months for, and IT'S WRONG. How about when a car crosses the centerline and the innocent party is killed? Bad stuff happens! Speaking as a lurker, if you're trying to discredit Andy, it's having the opposite effect. Considering the distance and language issues, I'm impressed with all he's offering to do.
"Bad stuff happens, and people suffer consequences they shouldn't have to." I ordered from Andy and delivery by DHL. Have had problems with DHL before but this time was a new low. Misinformation, long delay caused by DHL not sending and processing customs documents fast, lots of communication needed from me, a claim that they need a special vehicle to reach me etc. Finally DHL tried to make me pay for having kept the shipment in bonded storage during the delay. I never blamed Andy because it was fault of DHL.

I also had a DHL problem two winters ago. We had a heavy snow that closed some roads. Two days later, UPS, Fedex, and USPS were delivering normally. DHL couldn't make it for over 2 weeks, and they wouldn't let me pick the package up anywhere. Every day the status said delivery was impossible because of road conditions, even after the roads were melted to bare pavement.

You can add multiple verified shipping destinations to your PayPal account, (I currently have Three). If you have an glitch/issue with PayPal, then you need to sort it out with them before making further orders. PayPal security/guarantees requires sellers to ship to verified addresses.

This is why I never set my Install dates until I have all equipment in hand and bench tested by me. I also purchase everything locally so that get the full 5yr warranty. Andy provides a great service to users on here looking for a quality product at a reasonable price!

In our case DHL is unwilling to drive the last 30 minutes on a good road giving excuses of no vehicle, special vehicle needed, authorization needed from HQ hinting that it will take a very long time. Last time I refused, contacted HQ and they found us fast. The local DHL guys are lazy or want extra money. Tracking alerts did not function at all and received false information of the need of an import license from DHL even before the shipment left HK.

wow. Please ban me from this form. You resort to swearing and rash action too easily. I show you that he is wrong and you look for other areas to blame me.
You sound like a child tbh.. Stuff like this happens ALL the time with many and much larger companies. You sound like you didn't get your way and took to a forum to badmouth someone who was trying to rectify the situation that was on both parties. Grow up dude, I assume you're 29..

Being a project manager I can say your post reads like a total trunk slammer. If you ever want to run a successful business here's a few things you need to know.

1) Don't commit to a client a short deadline without having parts in hand. Maybe if you know they're on shelf items locally. I've never met a client who didn't exaggerate his deadline. We all do it. Actual deadline - X days = advertised deadline...because we all know delays WILL happen.
2) Most of my distributors/vendors know me personally quite well. Mistakes happen and delays happen. I've never ripped any of my vendors a new one and I've been in this game for 12 years... I especially wouldn't do it on a public forum. Distributors/Vendors have more clients than you can count. If you leave any small detail out on the initial order and you correct it in a email/voice call...Expect problems. And when they happen, that's on you. They get way more calls and emails than you'd think and can't be expected to correct issues in processing/shipping departments/carriers. Again, that's on you.

Andy has an amazing relationship with this site. He's got a great response time ESPECIALLY being halfway across the globe. He's knowledgeable, gives great support, spends time asking questions, and frankly I've never received something from China so quick in my life. You should have researched him before you flamed him. $10 says you were thinking he was a "fly by night unprofessional vendor" (Kind of like how you're coming across right now.) If I acted this way about any of my vendors I'd get blackballed. At the very least my orders would get filed to the "yeah, fuck this guy. I'll get to the order when I feel like it" pile. It's like your food orders. Don't be a douche to the staff unless you like eating spit.

If can rerouting shipment easily. We surely will do without any hesitation. I checked with Hongkong DHL, they told me ask receiver to contact local guy to change it easily. Because shipment already passed US customs, the goods belong to the receiver, sender no right to change it anymore.
This is one of those customers you should just let go....he will never be happy.

Please see Another Andy (EMPIRETECANDY) & DHL is GREAT thread thread on how you might have handled this differently.

I did exactly the same thing as you (provided wrong address through paypal), and DHL rerouted it to the corrected address free of charge and delivery was delayed by only 1 day. Maybe DHL wouldn't have helped you, I was polite and acknowledged my mistake, and asked if there was anything they could do to help.
