Hikvision Indoor Villa Screen (DS-KH6310-A) firmware issue

hi there folks , i have bin searching the internet forever and was hoping someone here could perhaps provide me with a solution.

first off all , let me start by saying i did this to myself ... i had a working product and desided to do a firmware upgrade (witch is ussualy not a bad thing ...) but i broke my device in the process ...

so these are my products , for inside my home i bougt a DS-KH6310-A (Notice the A , it will be important at some point ...) , for outside my house , wen people want to visit me ,i placed the DS-KB8112-IM

the DS-KB8112-IM was the first product that i bought , after installing i noticed there was no option to connect a relay that will trigger a inside bell , and since the hik-connect app was not officially supported for that product i sometime's missed call's on my phone , so i started searching for a sollution and bought the indoor screen ... after installation it worked without a problem but i had 3 problems :

a : with a firmware upgrade the first page was completly different organised , a bunch of stuf for alarm was no longer precent and quickly viewing my cam's was easyer (so i wanted to upgrade for that)

b: hik-connect would not work at the moment , i had version 1.4.0 on the device , the newest firmware was 1.4.7.1 , i believe hik-connect support is also included in the firmware since i seen my setup working on youtube with the explenation of the hik-connect app

c: better SIP support was included in the newest firmware, that was something i also wanted to take use off so we could emergency call in case of something important , or in case we are not home we could talk with the friends on the door.

anyway, here is the thing , nowhere on the net there is information about the product DS-KH6310-A , i have no clue what that A means but on the hikvision website's i only find info about the W / WL / WT versions ...

i did a firmware upgrade and after that i get some wierd language on the device (if i can call it a language)

to make the situation worse , i can't return to the original version , every version give's me the same result now ... it is even not possible to just install the upgrade now , i have to use hiktools.exe to change the language from EN/ML (1) to CH (2) ... i tried firmware's from the UK , australian , europe site's and installed over 20 different versions ... old one's , new one's , nothing helps.

if i google my device and search for picture's i see my device type with the explenation "DO NOT FIRMWARE UPGRADE" ,what the hell ?? why should i be denied a firmware upgrade with new functions if i bought it a week ago ?? , i contacted my reseller and told him he is selling me something strange since there stands on his website its a type W , and i get a type A , but his stupid response was that they changed the letter but it is the same product , if that was the case , why do i brik my device with a fw upgrade then ...


i'm out of options right now ... can't return my brand new device and alle the FW's that i try fail ... hopefully someone smart in here that wants to help me out ...

Hi Mighty, I do not have an answer for your problem, I can relate with the pain of your issues and I am sorry. But you might help me as I am ready to install a DS-KB8112-IM and indoor station did not arrive yet. What is the advised mounting height for the door station? thanks in advance!

Hi buddy can't really help but I haven't heard of the A version in the UK. I think its always been W at the end of it.

hi,

i just kind of winged the hight actually, first off i used the original location of the old cable but that was a bit too high (if the bell was used i coudnt see who was there)

i replaced the cable with a new one but connected the device first to the network and tested with the hight while the app was connected (that way my wife could tell me wat the "good location" was)

don't really know if this helps.

yeah well that's because i believe this devices are branded for the hong kong / china / whatever market.

these devices are not the same quality as the W versions , and are not supposed the be selled outside a few country's,

i believe the reseller is buying this devices cheap , with a firmware that only he can apply on the devices.

after i teld him i figured out his plan to scam me and tolled him i would expose it the the authorities, suddenly they knew of the W devices and for a discount of 50% i could buy the W version , and the A was for free ....

i don't have to tell you with this kind of deal , i had them exactly where i wanted them ... Busted !!

last time i ever buy someting there ...
