hikvision 7104 wd 1T disk

Hi all,

I just received and installed my new system at home. But the system does not detect the hard disk.
Any advice.

Re-check the power and SATA cables.
Listen to see if the HDD spins up.
Try another HDD.

hi All,

thanks for the advice.
I will check the cables. my 500GB harddisk gets detected though.
the 1T does not spin as the 500GB disk though.
I plugged the harddisk into my desktop and could format it and copy files to it.
will check again tonight.

Just an update.
Measured the power supply voltage. Drops to 11vdc.
Used a similar power converter. It works now although amp rating is lower.
Will contact supplier for a replacement 12vdc voltage converter.

Now for configuring cameras and system.

Well done for figuring that out, and sharing the symptom and cause.
It sounds like the larger HDD just tips a faulty power supply over the edge.

How is the 7104 working for you?
I wish I could get my email alerts to work.
Not sure this unit supports it but I see it in the configuration page?

I am quite happy with it.
Must still sort out access via phone as i dont have fix line adsl line.
Only wifi in my house.
Inwill probably asknagain for advice soon.
Apparently a standard router with wifi capability will work when connect to the 7104.
