Hello.
Don't know what change but I can not view my cameras with openVPN from outside my local network.
1. OpenVPN server runs on my router RT-AC3100
2.Android phones with OpenVPN Connect as client
3.gDMSS Lite as viewing software.
Recently updated firmware on Dahua NVR and Asus router and now I can not see the feeds from cameras.
OpenVPN connects to router with no issues but no camera feed.
Anybody have an idea what to check?

Confirm that the IP address of the NVR has not changed

Ip address still the same.
gDMSS can see NVR or individual cameras when adding in device manager but can not get the feed.
Tried forwarding a port to one of the cameras and used tinyCam Pro to connect without openVPN and that worked
but with openVPN either gDMSS or tinyCam will not show feed.

can you ping items on your local net (ie a camera) when outside the wifi range over ovpn (there are android apps for this)? I assume you tried to view the camera directly over ovpn as well as looking at the resource on the NVR and they both fail?

Yes viewing a camera either through NVR or directly failed.
I can ping local camera address when connected with openVPN
Ping statistics:
3 transmited, 2 received 33% packet loss
Total execution time 6972 ms

If the ping statistics are a 33% packet lost and a ping time of 6.9 seconds. There may be something wrong with the network.

A 32 byte ping packet should have a round trip on less than 100 ms on a good external network. And less than 1 ms on a local network.

Have you tried to connect to the VPN from a remote hardwired connection ?

May be the few extra bytes tor the encryption are pushing you over the top. 0.6 upload is very slow for watching video.
This more then likely is a network performance problem.

Set up a second second stream from the camera , with a much lower resolution frame rate (≤ 5) bit rate (≤ 1000) rate type VBR, iftame 20. See if that improves the issue.

My Sub Stream 1 is 352*288 res, 5 FPS and 160 Max Bit Rate and still no go.
Looks like VPN just not transferring any data and TinyCam Pro without VPN (just forwarded port) works.

Ok. I redid profiles for openvpn and now it works. Go figure.
I think I did it like 10 times today and now it decided to work.
Thanks
