Yes, recording the 480DI, vbr, substream 24/7, I get roughly 26 days on a 128gb.
Is it still possible to identify the perpetrator from the 480 stream if needed? What does "DI" mean? De-interlaced? Strange for a modern digital camera.

And you choose the lower resolution stream to save space on the card?
I would add that it's not about saving space. The card will fill up in 26 days as @looney2ns mentioned and the camera will start overwriting the oldest recordings. This prolongs the life of the card because the card will be overwritten fewer times in the same timeframe compared to writing in 1080p for example. Increasing capacity of the card will produce the same effect. A 64GB card will be overwritten half number of times compared to a 32GB card in the same timeframe.

If the card fills up every 26 days even a TLC card will last long.

In my situation, yes. Every cam location is different, and will require different settings. What works for me will possibly not work for you.

Oh, it's 480D1. It was spelled 480di. My search for 480di didn't come up with anything reasonable. Thanks.
