Hello everyone, new member here!

I recently purchased a used dome camera, model number above and i would just like to let everyone know that i am fairly computer savvy but very new to the IP camera game!

So i got home and i connected my camera using a 12V 1A power source i had laying around, and an ethernet cable to my PC just to get a feel for how IVMS works.

Now this is the issue, after running a reset and setting a new password, the device shows up in the bottom of IVMS under online devices, but as soon as i go to add it to manageable devices i get the following error:

"xvfsdgsd HCNetSDK.dll[7]. (connecting to device failed. The device is offline or the network timed out.)"

I have searched and searched but it doesn't seem like a very common issue.

Any help is muchly appreciated as i was so excited to get this working but i'm stuck in a loop!

thank you so much for your help!

kind regards

Upgrade your IPC fimrware with 2017 for security and change IP address from your IPC to 192.168.0.64
i can't update the firmware unless i can access the camera. i cannot even log into the device through the browser, it is only showing in the online devices section. changing the IP address didn't help either, unfortunately.

change IP address from your IPC to 192.168.0.64
It won't work till you do the suggested action. Can be done via SADP, which does not care that the PC and camera are on different network segments, unlike the browser and iVMS.

Could port forwarding be an issue even though i only want to connect IPC to PC via ethernet cable? I'm struggling to get the hub 3.0 to forward the ports, but i thought that would only matter if i wanted to stream the feed to my mobile and not to connect my IPC to my PC.

thanks

For you
Your PC IP 192.168.0.14 with gate 192.168.0.1
Yout IPC IP MUST BE 192.168.0.64 with gate 192.168.0.1

or change MASK according to circumstances

Can you ping the camera IP address from the PC?
Can you plug the PC in to the router/switch instead of WiFi and re-test?

When pinging "192.168.0.64", it says the destination host is un-reachable.

I only have one ethernet port on my computer unfortunately. But i could try it on my other, older PC if needs be.

Add to your PC 192.0.0.128 address and using TFTP restore you IPC with more fresh firmware.
Deal with the wires, addresses and devices on your network.
Use DHCP to get addresses to your devices.
Who issues DHCP?
