hello

I have a problem and hopefully you guys can help me figure out what’s going on

My business was robbed a few days ago and I decided to ditch my old eve and a get a new one that would fit my cameras and also that could be monitored anywhere from me cellphone .

I got a dahua dvr. Installed everything ok. I downloaded the iDMSS app on my iphone set it up as p2p and was able to see all my 16 cameras. I was worried that since it was too easy to setup I thought it only worked since I was on the same network, my phone was on WiFi .

Went outside turned off my phones WiFi checked again and it still worked. The next day I checked again from different places my homes WiFi , cellphone network on the road everything was ok.

But the next day at night at home i checked and it stopped working , I couldn’t see anything in the app. Neither on WiFi or cellphone network, I was scared of being robbed again so I drove back to my business. And as soon as I got in range of my business WiFi the app worked again and I could see the cameras again for a few days everywhere I went.

A few days later I got a call from my alarm company that a security sensor was activated , so in fear of being robbed I checked the cameras again on the app and they weren’t working again on the app. Drove back to my business and once I got there and was in WiFi range then , again they started working.

What’s going on?

Sounds like their P2P server is down or your WAN connection (Internet) to the NVR is gone.

I'm sorry, I don't use P2P so I cannot offer much insight beyond that.

Why not setup up VPN at your business router so you don’t have to worry about anything other than losing internet service to your business?
