Hi everyone,

Just wanted to see if any person has had issues with Hikvision LAN ports dropping in and out intermittently? currently have a clients camera which was working perfectly fine then all of a sudden went offline and never returned. I have since obtained the camera and completed the following in an attempt to rectify the issue;

- Numerous different CAT6 cables
- Different laptops
- Replaced POE injector
- Tried plugging directly into laptop (i.e discounted router/switch/modem issues)
- Attempted to hard reset the camera without success

The only other option I can try is to power the camera externally (24V AC) and use the ethernet port purely for data to see if that works. It appears the camera is faulty but before I replace the camera I was hoping someone has previously had a similar issue and found a fix.

Thanks in advance.

Did it come with a Hikvision PoE injector or are you using aftermarket?
Did the problem occur when the heater / blower may have come on?
What is your cable length?

Cheers!

It powers up fine with another injector?
Or with 24VAC?

When you plug it in, either with PoE ir 24VAC, does it move around like it’s POSTing?

  1. I have tried two POE injectors. Both Hikvision originals. I have not tried via an external 24V AC power supply yet.
  2. No idea if it did occur while the blower/heater turned on.
  3. Cable length is 30cm

The camera itself behaves like it is working correctly. The video output via BNC is fine and working correctly and outlines that the power up, pan/tilt checks are a success. When trying to access the camera via laptop I noticed the laptop network was quickly detecting a network then dropping off immediately. If plugged into a switch there is no light indicator illuminating to indicate any data transfer from the camera.

Are you proper setting the ipv4 address on the laptop so that it can reach the camera via switch only?

Yes. All devices on the same network.
Even if it was not on the same subnet, the laptop would still recognise the ethernet cable plugged into the laptop.
