Does anyone have any experience with this new doorbell?

VTO2101E-P

Im wondering if it can be used with blue iris without a subscription etc

Is it Onvif or at least not restricted to P2P? Tcp/ip in the spec looks promising. And SIP option also interesting.

Cant find a price anywhere. Andy?

This doorbell doesn't seem to support connecting to a mechanical or digital chime?

Neither Ali Baba, that Netherlands webstore, or any other foreign sites (Ukraine, Spain, etc) I've found this product on mentions ONVIF at all. Why is this so impossible to find?

This is being marketed as a doorbell? I'd be afraid to touch it because it clearly looks like a security device. No friendly glowing doorbell symbol to be found.

I wonder why SIP isn't being featured more often. I'd love for the device to place simultaneous calls to tablets, phones, netbooks, computers, media players, VoIP ATA devices and in some cases to my VoIP provider. Android and IoS apps are fine and all but not always convenient and they monitor you far more eagerly than you monitor your doorway.

So finally got this installed and setup to a point where I'm happy with it. Now brings my dahua set to 2 x HDBW1831R-ZS, 1 x HDBW4239R-ASE and 1 x VTO2101E-P.

"Im wondering if it can be used with blue iris without a subscription etc"
I don't know, as I don't use this software.

"Is it Onvif"
I does not seem to work with the rtsp link which includes the Onvif protocol. e.g. rtsp://192.168.2.128:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0&unicast=true&proto=Onvif

"or at least not restricted to P2P"
I view mine through the rtsp connection, e.g. rtsp://admin:admin@10.7.6.67:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1

"Has anyone tried this device in a real world setting?"
Happy with mine so far, meets all my reasonable expectations. :)

"This doorbell doesn't seem to support connecting to a mechanical or digital chime?"
Correct, or at least as far as I've worked out so far.

"This is being marketed as a doorbell?"
It's an "outdoor station".

"Anyone had any experience with this yet?"
Yup

Anyway some initial thoughts are;
- Definitely rugged. Didnt want a platic alternative.
- For my case, awesome that it can be rotated, i.e installed on an angle. As mine is installed at a corner.
- When you press the button a lady says the following "Calling now, please wait moment." ... yes, it's broken English. Probably could hack, and change the sound file but I can't be bothered.
- It has a anti-theft alarm too, if the unit is removed from the wall - but only whilst powered.
- There is IR
- Image quality is only 720p, so lower. But I have other cameras in the vicinity anyway.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Disappointing. After seeing the torture video, I was really hoping for high resolution as it otherwise performed well, not 720P.

What makes this particularly attractive is that it's PoE, weatherproof and rugged.

Looking at the specs it does seem to have a relay output, SPDT. If that's the case, and the relay is fired by the button press, a doorbell could be wire to the NO contacts of that relay.

Separately, how does audio work with this through BI? Since there is an RSTP stream it should be configurable in BI.

@trevorf

can you upload some sample daytime and nighttime videos to youtube?

Are you using POE? Working well? Happy?

Hi @trevorf ,

I own an X-SECURITY XS-V2101E-IP that it's an OEM version of Dahua VTO2101E-P.

I was wondering if is there a way to change sounds.

I've tried to login via SSH but my login data was not accepted...

Have you changed all the sound?

Best Regards
Salvatore

Why don't they just put the sensor in out of the 5231-ZE? I'm sure there's a reason, probably cost, but...

Failing that, surprised they don't they consider the Sony IMX 291 sensor? It's starlight, has a very good reputation for low light ability and must be low in price as it's years old and in many cheap dash cameras. The support chipset boards must be small to fit into some of the smaller dashcams and so you would think it would be possible to partner this with a compact network board and fit it all into a doorbell format casing.
