HI All,
  • The problem was my network was not on the same subnet.
  • The paper setup instructions had no info the cameras had a static ip address of 192.168.1.8
  • I spent 17 hours trying to get the camera configuration software tool to work. It still does not work.
  • I have been using a typical web browser to setup cameras.
  • I have setup many ip cameras using the same configuration software...They all discover the cameras using the MAC address, not an ip address. So a little strange these work this way.
  • If anyone has actually got the camera config software to work? My only other guess is that my OS is Windows Server 2012R2... and I have tried the config software emulating every version of windows OS under server 2012r2...
  • Do I need to format the Micro SD Cards prior to inserting into the cameras? Or can I format them in the cameras?
  • Does anyone has a generic camera setup settings for this camera I can refer to?
  • I will not be using POE as my cameras are too far away, all of them will have AC power in the general area and I will be using the power supplies that come with them.
Once I was actually able to login into the cameras using a web browser I was impressed.... These are pretty amazing cameras.
1-As I directed your attention to 4 post's back.
2-The default IP is not 192.168.1.8, it is 192.168.1.108, which I had told you in the same post.
3-I use the IP Config tool all the time without problems, make sure you have downloaded the latest version.
4-Ip Config tool works fine.
5-format in camera, it may already be formatted and you can see that in the camera.
6-Factory defaults work fine to get started, you will need to tweak each cam based on their location and surroundings after you get them installed. It all affects the settings.
7-What @Cameraguy said above.
8-When all else fails, read the instructions. The instructions are right here in 100's of posts.

Dahua doesn't sell to end-users, only to authorized distributors who mostly sell to installers (people who actually know what they are doing) So there goes your right.. Maybe you should have done more reading up on info here on the forum. It's all available here.

Just ordered one of these last night to replace a Bullet CAM that is a constant spider web nightmare.
I have a SD49225, and I'm anxious to play with the Tracking function of this CAM.

Just waiting for a tracking number from @EMPIRETECANDY

I just noticed my ivs alarm tracking track time is 5 seconds on all my presets that I have set up, I know they where between 15-30 seconds before depending on preset now when I go to change them and save says save succeeded but when I go to another preset to adj that one or refresh it they always reset to 5 seconds.
I am having the same issue. Checking everything now, to see if I can get the values to stick.

@dabossc7 The Issue seems to browser related.
Using Chrome,Opera & Palemoon the values change back to 5 seconds. When I checked using IE the values seem to stick and are correct.

I will check to see if the tracking time is working as desired.

I also received my 59225 yesterday.
@EMPIRETECANDY did his part with DHL. Ordered 10/24 and the camera arrived in Phoenix, AZ on 10/29.
I live 100 miles north of Phoenix in a remote area.
DHL forwarded the camera to the USPS for delivery, and it took four days to go the final 100 miles.

But the camera is here, and it will be play time this weekend.

Around here 4 days per hundred miles is wishful thinking from the USPS. ;)

@EMPIRETECANDY do you know if there are any more planned firmware updates please to address things like the http server interface on the camera crashing?

Our 59225 has been put to good use lately - it identified someone stealing something from outside the neighbours front door (ironically their own next door neighbour stole it) It also answered who (or should I say what) has been crapping outside another neighbours house :D

I relayed to Andy that there was one issue i wish dahua could address.. during IVS tracking - if it would stay on object longer before returning to assigned preset.. this would allow possible further tracking.. for instance a car pulls up, stops at mailbox, if it would stay on object tracking could resume once car begins to move again camera now returns to preset

This realistically needs to be time adjustable.

Yes, when using autotracking to trigger BI (as per pinko), motion triggering in the 59225 automatically re-enables after my daily reboot (as per jaycanter).
Not fully understood, but when moving in front of the camera for a long time, the file size/time in the camera's SD card exceeds the PTZ/intelligence/autotrack duration setting (60s). I have the Event/IVS setting at 10s. Also, the record in BI misses the first 6s and is split into several separate events.
Oh and although BI finds PullPointSubscrtiption in the camera's list of features, it is not automatically selected as per the help file. (not a big deal)
