Thank you for the help.

Yes, with the exception of my 4 sec pre-record time, it looks like yours. IVS-tab is as you describe.

I did check the email box on the MD-tab. I will see if that change works, I just don't want an email on motion only.

Will report back...

I just went out with my laptop and watched my preview on the IVS screen live while making changes.

With the tripwire drawn across the screen, it never changes color like some of the videos I have seen do. I increased the length, and changed the direction to both. Nothing changed.

However, as I am typing this, I got emails - 10 or 11. Motion detect, and motion detect clear. From both channels.

So, it looks like the problem is limited to some setting in the IVS somewhere.

I have been doing this administration using Pale Moon, not SmartPSS if it matters.

Strange -

When I setup my NVR, I selected 12hr format. The playback timeline is still 24hr, I wish it reflected the change. But that is not what is strange.

The emails I am getting from the motion are coming in with the alarm date and time correct, but in 24hr format. This is the text in the message.

The strange thing is that the time on the message in gmail shows 9 hrs prior. Right now, it is 844 pm. email content shows 20:41, but gmail(Thunderbird) shows the message shows arriving at 11:41 am.

I really need to change the threshold on the MD.

Hmmm.. You have Smart Plan turned ON for IVS right? .. and if you have Smart Codec on the "Encode" tab, its turned off ?

Beyond that we'll need a Pro to weigh in, I'm outta ideas ;)

Did not, but i am very unsure of the smartplan.

I can highlight the lightbulb, hit ok, but when i come back or hit refresh, nothing has changed

Where do we find a pro? I had high hopes for you.:)

Those sound fine. We must be missing something simple. I'm setting it up on one of my 4208 NVR's that had not been running IVS, we'll see what i get.

Great. Thanks

Am I correct in thinking that the IVS tripwire on the setup screen changes colors when it is activated? Can you turn them on so they are visible during playback?

In smartPSS, right click the playback image and click "IVS rule". The blue lines show up, and blink red when tripped. I think it's on by default. I don't know how to show the IVS rules on the NVR web interface. Maybe somebody else can answer this.

@Steve Bowman what NVR do you have again?

Ive discovered that IVS seems to be disabled on my 4208-8P-4KS2 NVR's. These are the ones I use for the HOA and I record 24/7 plus MD so had not really had the need for IVS, though I did have it setup and working on the one camera earlier this year just to see how it worked. The tab is still there, but its obviously inactive..

Apparently some firmware update in the past 6 months or so has disabled IVS, I think I saw a post about this now that I think about it, and it no longer appears as a feature on the Dahua website ... hmmm

My home HCVR7208 does do IVS but it is different than the IP NVR's in that it is all done on the DVR and not dependent on the CVI camera being IVS capable. I enjoy using Tripwire at the house and it works great.

As as sidebar, Ive found that Dahua seems to be cracking down on distribution of their high-end CVI products. They've introduced a bunch of new models this year, but can no longer be found by most AliExpress retailers or the handful of US retailers. The only CVI products that seem to be available are the low end and middle of the road stuff..

Make sure you are using the "right" codec and encoding, not all combinations support IVS. If you didn't change these settings after upgrading, you might try a factory reset and see whether the capability comes back.

Yep, I know it doesnt work with H265, but running the default H264H and it works with that one on my home HCVR... will search for firmware updates and try the factory reset. Thanks.

It seems I updated the firmware in June, but that latest version is from Fall of 2017 I’m assuming the version prior which shipped with my NVR’s was an earlier release..

Weird because all of the controls seem to still be there but it doesn’t seem to activate ....

Hold the phone!

Dont know if it was me swearing at it or if I accidentally hit the right button, but I'm getting email alerts to my phone form that HOA NVR for "Tripwire" all of a sudden.

Unfortunately the Day Job is getting in the way of further investigation today and I have dinner with my boss and his boss so may be tomorrow before I can get back to it. Apparently that model does do IVS, though i think the camera has to be IVS compliant as well...
