maybe I am missing something. When logging into the NVR directly, there is no way to directly access the camera to make Changes that I can find. On the computer, when I enter the nvr ip and log in, the settings tab has each camera individually listed, and a small blue “e” listed that I can click on and log into the camera directly.
Nothing like this on the nvr, at least from what I can see.
On the nvr, in the settings, the camera registration had a place that says “modify” with a pencil icon. When I click on that, I get a tab with the username, password, ip etc and a button that says “connect”. Clicking it does NOTHING at all. Even if I click connect>ok.

There are many settings that need to be done through the camera directly, and I cannot imagine there is no way to get there on the nvr since there is through the nvr ip on any computer running internet explorer!

Ideas? Thanks

I have a Dahua NVR4 4KS2 (White Plastic cheap looking NVR) I am having same problem, I thought I could set up IVS Smart PLANS from the NVR but find it impossible to set rules from the NVR, however if I disconnect the NVR & set up the IVS Plans direct to camera from my Desktop Computer& then reconnect the NVR it will follow the camera setup but I cant see the PLAN DRAWING superimposed on the live video.?
I also find it impossible to RECORD IVS only the only recording I can do is the general, the time line is all green, select IVS & there is no recording.?
May I ask if this is your same problem or not, I cant believe Dahua would sell a NON - Compatible system.

If same problem as yours I hope somebody can come back & say this is normal or not.

maybe I am missing something.

Well you dont have to necessarily disconnect the cameras from the NVR if you log in with another computer on the same network.
Simply put in the NVR ip address, go to the setup tab, and the cameras are located on the bottom half of the page. Next to each camera there is its name, and the ability to modify, delete etc. There is also a column they says "web browse", with a blue internet explorer logo
If you click that logo, it takes you to a new login page where you can use your camera password and log directly into the camera.

My issue is actually the same as what you suggested, in that I cannot access the camera in that same way from the NVR. I can access it from any computer on the same network using the browser login but not through the NVR. I assume you don't have a computer connected to your NVR. If you do have your NVR connected to a computer or a network, you can simply log into the camera as I said without unplugging anything

it should work. Somebody was nice enough to point that out to me a couple of weeks ago so I figured I would return the favor to somebody else. My problem is I would like to do everything from the NVR and not have to access a computer and so far nobody has replied with any sort of information so I am thinking it's not possible

May I ask what model NVR you have, I have only received the Dahua camera and NVR a few weeks ago and have spent every day attempting to get it to do "IVS Plans", my seller although attempted every day to help was unable to get it up and running, we had a fall out last Friday after they claimed all the problems were me, I agree to some extent, but very frustrated the lack of information on the NVR I am using. I finally did get the camera to AutoTrack with the help of CAMERMAN.
I have the following: NVR Dahua 4K 4POE 8Mp 4Ch H.265 P2P NVR 4104-P-4KS2 I would love for someone to come back to me and let me know how to record "IVS only" which I believe would be "YELLOW" on the play line, the only recording I can do is "GREEN" which is REGULAR MANUAL, I only wish to record IVS for quick finding and not fill up the HardDrive so quickly.
Can somebody send me a Picture of setup on how this is done please.

Hmm, this may solve the problem I was having, or at least render it moot. I was unable to control my cameras directly from the NVR, and also couldn’t connect to them through the Poe ports on the NVR. Since I hadn’t connected the NVR to my network yet I never tried to access it from the web interface. I will try that tonight. It was bugging me that I bought varifocal cameras but couldn’t figure out how to adjust them. I expect with my laptop plugged into the Poe side of the NVR I can access the web interface from that side as well without having to put the NVR on my network yet.

Sorry you say Right click the cam's live view>PTZ>zoom+or- Do I do this on the NVR or Camera I ask as I don't seem to have this setting on my NVR.

I have something very wrong with my Dahua NVR as I can see the PRESETS in my NVR that I setup originally in the camera but have no control whatsoever of these PRESETS, I can not change from one preset to another or ADD or anything, NVR is just stuck on PRESET1 from my original camera setup of 4 Presets.

I am still chasing why I cant record & Playback IVS only from my NVR: It only records continually showing continuous GREEN, if I select IVS only on playback there is no recording at all.

Under VIDEO/DETECT/EVENT SETUP there are 4 settings at top of page, " MOTION DETECT / VIDEO LOSS / TAMPERING / SCENE CHANGE?, Which one do I Highlight for IVS AUTO-TRACKING SETUP for IVS RECORDING ONLY, if I HIGHLIGHT MOTION DETECT My AUTO-TRACKING feature ceases to operate anymore, as it s impossible to not have one of the 4 highlighted can you help me which one should be highlighted.

I have a simple setup as I only have 1 camera Dahua DH-SD59225U-HN & NVR Dahua Smart 1U 4104-P 4KS2 I believe I have all the right boxes clicked for the recording, I am new to IP Surveillance & not very clever on computers, I am sorry for that. Any help would be most welcome..

Here is how I set my IVS record.

On camera Web Gui, go to smart plan and turn on the lightbulb. Then on IVS draw the line and do all setting you want there.

After that, go back to the NVR Web GUI, do the same thing on smart plan. On IVS, verify all the lines, record setting is the same with that on the camera. Then go to record >> schedule >> set up to check IVS record and day, time. Make sure you save the settings.

HELP!
Thank you, I have tried your suggestion, I now believe it is me as I cant open anything on my camera from my desktop using Windows10 Via the Dahua Toolbox Config tool when my NVR is connected (The tool I use when setting camera IVS Rules direct from Desktop computer direct to Dahua Camera) before reconnecting my NVR the camera performs all the Rules perfectly, that is controlling SMART PLAN & IVS Rules, like Auto Tracking, all perfect, unfortunately when I reconnect the NVR the NVR follows the last PRESET I had setup when direct to camera setup, but cant edit the Rules or set new rules when the NVR is included in the system, it just follows the last camera rule set whilst on the camera.

Maybe I am expecting something that the NVR cant do, to clarify this I will ask a few questions that will help me understand:
*When NVR is setup properly should I be able to set new rules, or edit the original camera rules (This is impossible when NVR is included)
*When NVR is setup properly should I be able it to ask NVR to RECORD IVS only and not the GENERAL GREEN Play Line, (Mine Always Green)
*When viewing from NVR (Via HDMI) is there any page that shows IP & Details of both the camera & NVR if so where do I look.

Can anybody send me a "SCREEN GRAB" that I could compare my NVR setup against other people screen grabs that may help me.
I have mentioned, Born in 1937 I am struggling to learn about computers at my age, any help will be most appreciated.

I personally believe I have not yet got the NVR to be recognized in the setup I have.

My Dahua DH-SD59225U-HN camera is directly connected to Ch 1 on Dahua NVR 4K 4POE 8MP Smart 1U VIA POE Via Cat5 & Viewed Via HDMI the Output Cat5 from my NVR goes directly to my Modem/Router then & finally viewed & PLAN IVS setup from my Windows10 Desktop which is connected to my Modem Router.

I have never in last few weeks of trying ever seen my NVR setup from my Windows10 computer screen ( I am lost what IP has to be done to see the NVR on my Windows 10 Computer screen, however when I disconnect the NVR & only have the camera directly connected to my MODEM/ROUTER & using the Dahua TOOLBOX & Config, every thing comes clear to me then allowing full control over the Dahua Camera, but when rewiring as explained with Dahua NVR in circuit I do not get any where by trying many IPs such as 192.168.1.108 & many of the 10.1.1.1 & many other, as of last few weeks I have never yet seen the camera picture or setup from my Windows10 Via Dahua Toolbox & Config search, I only ever see a live picture or any IVS Setup is from my HDMI Screen. I am guessing I should see all this on the Windows10 Computer Screen simular as I see when only directly connecting Camera to Modem Router, Please advise me what I am doing wrong (I feel it is just as simple as a missing IP?) a screen grab would be a great help.

I live in the bush on my own & with my limited knowledge & no close help of about 500 Klm I feel when the NVR is included in my setup I should see similar setup as I do with camera direct.
Please can somebody confirm if I am on the right track, or way off, thank you all for your help. Chas

The same info is included on the CD that shipped with the NVR.
Actually the CD was BLANK I complained about this CD was Blank, I tried it on 2 computers. It was such a help to see the contents of the CD, I have been flying blind until I got the help from people like you.

I have been flying blind until I got the help from people like you.
I have been trying for weeks to get Auto-tracking & recording IVS footage working on my Dahua Camera & NVR with the great help from my friends on this Forum I was getting closer but yesterday drama struck with camera giving black flashes then NOTHING. Attempting to get camera back I installed a new Cat6 cable & shortened the cable length to to now only 82Feet, (The cable is good as well as 3 other cables tried)

I played with IP searches & I believe with my lack of knowledge I have confused the camera IP, that is, I can not get a PICTURE from the camera anymore, I have tried for hours, I am sure it is a IP issue now?

I am including a screen shot that may be an issue, Under the word "TYPE" in screen shot you will see the NVR has a GREEN BAR & the camera has a light pink color bar, it has always been like this, should the camera also have a bright color GREEN bar in the Screen Shot.?
Could the camera showing this PINK instead of GREEN be the cause of all my past problems I have had since new. Problems were, FLASHING CAMERA VISION / CANT AUTO-TRACK or RECORD IVS Please can somebody tell me if this colour is important which is shown on the SCREEN SHOT,
Also if I have upset the camera IP, can this be recovered, the IP in the Screen Shot look like the normal IPs I see in the past,

I can not enter the camera Via Dahua Toolbox it goes to a Blank Screen & not to the normal Dahua ADMIN / Password sign in. The NVR HDMI Viewing Screen says "10.1.1.65 CAN NOT FIND THE NETWORK HOST."

My 2 questions is the color of the camera ICON in SCREEN SHOT Normal & how to retrieve my Camera IP. Note: I have never been able to view the camera directly connected to a computer or my modem, whilst powering the camera Via the 24v transformer. From Chas

Did you make your own cable? If so did you go by t568b standard? I know it seems like a weird place to start, I once encountered a problem when a friend made his own cable and couldn’t figure out why the poe camera worked on a 3ft cable but not 50ft.

Yes I do make my own Cat 5 cable,"A-Straight Through Ethernet Cable" you made me nervous when you mention there is a difference for POE, on my search for POE both A & B seem fine, but you have made me think are all the professional Cat5 cables, are they A or B as I have a mixture, that is I made my Cable for the camera and use brought Cat5 for all other,

I wonder if my made up "A" Cat5 from camera to NVR & Cat5 "B" from NVR Lan to Modem could cause a problem?

the cable can eather A or B. The colors must match and Just because it is straight through is not enough. The electric properties of the wire interact with the other wires in the cable.
