Hi I am looking for following requirements from a security camera. I searched a lot online but couldnt find one. Please suggest.

POE
Outdoor (IP66 etc)
2-way audio
H.265 H.265+ compression
4MP or more

Reason: I dont like products of Arlo like companies having to deal with their "cloud" storage. I am more wary of those interfaces. Would like to create a NVR storage and VPN access to these cameras remotely.

Welcome @kyatobhiug

The cliff notes are your friend in your search - check those out and some of the reviews members have done on cameras here.

Thank you for the suggestions. I looked into the Cliff notes and also in the Network cameras suggestion but I dont see any camera that suffices all the requirements that I have. To me it looks like OEMs are not producing products that have all these features may be because the Arlos of the world have taken over that market.

I have looked into following brands till now with no success:
Reolink
Amcrest
Lorex
Nightowl
Qsee
Dahua
Hikvision

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Thanks

The only cameras worth looking at at the Dahua and Hikvision, most of the others are crap or rebranded cameras.

What problem are you trying to solve. Front door, home security, animal monitoring. What requirement is not met by the cameras suggested ?

The H.265 compression saves some space but is slower to display on intel processors.

I personally have never used the 2 way audio.

As you mentioned H.265 for compresion. Outdoor and 2-way audio for not needing to install a Ring or anything of that sort. POE as I have a conneciotn near the front door and 4MP for good quality.

From the cameras I have looked at they have one of the other feature missing. Either its 1.3 MP or it only comes iwth built in mic, or is not certified for outdoor or is wifi enabled and no poe.

Hi @kyatobhiug

1) Do take a look at @looney2ns suggestions.

2) Also note - there are 2 Lorex kits at Costco which has cameras which meet your specs - fenderman recently posted a link to the Dahua OEM model number which appears to be the camera used in those kits.

3) Brands
Reolink = not well liked for various reasons here.
Amcrest, Qsee => IP PoE cameras are Dahua OEM - and retain IVS functionality ( at least on the higher end models that I have looked at )
Lorex = SOME IP POE products are Dahua OEM, but Lorex strips the IVS features from the firmware - which maybe OK for you.

Dahua, Hikvision US market cameras will typically cost a bit more than many of us are willing to pay - so we look for other branded versions of those OEMs - or look at options to purchase International models.

Night Owl - I have not seen much posted here on that brand

4) 2-way talk - do you really need this for all cameras?

Using a real computer and monitor, not your phone, you need to look at my link again.
There are numerous cams in that link that meet your specs, or I wouldn't have posted it.
Use the comparison tool on the site to compare each model.
Keep in mind, if you need good night vision, the the 2mp version's are still the best.

Two-way talk in most instances is a gimmick.

I recently reviewed one such cam from the list I posted that hits all of your specs, and more.
Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5831E-ZE 8MP 4K Bullet.
There are numerous others in that link that meet your specs.
