Hello everyone.
I've been reading about AHD as a [slightly better] alternative to regular analog cams. I do understand, IP cams deliver better quality, but I'm limited to analog at this point.
It says on the web that AHD is compatible with some DVRs, but not the others. However, AFAIK Blue Iris is quiet about the issue. So, the question is - has anyone actually tried AHD?

There is no way to connect AHD cameras directly to blue iris..you would need an AHD DVR then stream from the dvr to blue iris...
you are better off using dahua CVI to do this...
also you are never "limited to analog".

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I just got lost trying to figure out how to stream from a DVR to Blue Iris.
The thing is, I have never used a DVR (PCs only), and don't have one in front of me now, so don't know where to start. Apparently, a DVR can be connected to a PC by a cable, but then, the PC will see the DVR as a device to exchange files with, right?
So, IMO the possibilities are either that (1) there is some 'DVR to PC streaming mode' on all or some DVRs, or (2) that the AHD stream must be somehow routed through the network. Could you provide a hint, please?
