Through google research I came across this forum and I am glad I did... Within a week of me finding you guys I have already been working with Andy @EMPIRETECANDY . I was trying to move pretty quick on acquiring a good system for home. I am not a complete NOOB. I have a background in Information Systems, and also have had a an older analog system at home that died on me, then an old tower PC that I got from a local friend with a security company until it died as well.... While at the same time I have been researching on this forum I was also leaning on Andy with countless emails(literally probably about 70-100). In My attempt to speed things up I can admit many of the things I asked him I could have and have found in the forum. Not once did he not answer, or send me away to find my own answers. Communication has been great even with the fact that Andy is 14 hours ahead of me here in the US. So when I am going to sleep he is waking up and vice versa lol

I have went ahead and ordered this setup:

All Dahua:

NVR5432-16P-4KS2E

12 IPC-HDW5231R-ZE. cameras in BLACK

2 IPC-HDBW4431F-AS. for inside

An 8TB Western Digital Purple

Cat6 Copper Cables Snagless RJ45, Stranded, 550Mhz, UTP, Pure Bare Copper Wire, 24AWG ( I do know how to terminate cables, but opted for the premade 100' cables from monoprice) again in my efforts to save time on install...I just kept seeing myself sit there to terminate 28 ends lol.....

Few miles north of Alexandria across the Red River. Welcome to forum. Great place to resolve problems and share knowledge.

Hi Muziking,

Just noticed... "Stranded" - ideally you want solid copper for your runs if you're going to punch those cables down to RJ45 jacks or a patch panel.

Hmm the full title says

Hi Muziking,

Will work well if you're not punching it down.

nope... when I built the house I conduit piping added in walls all over the place so I can fish cables later..... was importan since most of the ceilings are 12ft and ended up having a horizontal stud in the walls that would be hell to get through for future needs....

I'll be able to fish all the cables down a large conduit .. tips and all straight to the NVR

I didn't catch the stranded in the title neither.... I know stranded gives you more flexibility, but solid is better for longer runs etc
I'm thinking I'll be fine.
