Trying to adjust encode settings on my NVR through SMARTPSS, PALE MOON, CHROME and even the idmss app
none of them seem to be able to keep the change I make ,.. even when pressing ok it says saved successfully, but no change when i go ut and back to the same screen....

Also the settings being showed in all of these I am almost certain are not what I currently have set at the NVR.. I will check in an hour or so when I get home

what am I missing?

Its a 5432-16P-4ks2

all cameras are 5231r-ze

another thing I notice is my IVS rules show up in smartpss, but not on idmss and not in chrome, they do show in pale moon

Verified this morning.... local encode setting at the NVR do not match web connection via browser nor SmartPss

for example at the nvr i'm set to H.264H, VBR and 6 best on all cameras....substream is h.264h as well
remotely it shows I'm set to CBR, h.265
substream set to MJPEG

Bit rates are different as well.....

Idmss does seem to be showing the correct settings

I am having a similar issue, I was changing the settings in the dahua cameras themselves but that wouldn’t translate over to the nvr. It’s almost like setting the change in the nvr interface will supersede all others. I almost wish I could go back to geovision vms but the dahua cameras and nvr were so cheap..

Stand-alone NVR's are crap. Dahua cameras with a software VMS like blue iris is a winning combo.

I looked into blue iris, I wasn’t able to find pos support otherwise I would have done the pc nvr route. Still might. I’m installing my dahua system in my pizza shop next week, if the pos support in the dahua nvr is crap I’m just gonna scrap the nvr and look at other options.

There are several threads with ways to integrate POS

so then nothing I am necessarily doing wrong.. or a known issue/fix?

Too late on the standalone PC vs NVR.. that is a done deal at this point.

No, its should work. You are likely doing something wrong. See threads on the topic.

Not sure what I could be doing wrong by simply navigating to the encode section via local nvr, then navigating to encode section remotely via web and observing settings to be different

Using the settings in the NVR will change the cameras settings, I have had issues like that and a firmware update on the NVr fixed the issue.

Why are you not just logging on to the NVR direct, you named all the remote ways to get at it, what happend when you log on direct.

Just due to the fact that I set the system up over the past weekend... I did do just about all settings locally, but as I am reading and learning often from work during the day I was trying to hop in and make some changes...

Firmware on NVR is 3.216.0000000.0

You might also want to get the cams updated also, as far as firmware goes. Like I said before I have had settings not stick after a restart only on certain cameras and after pulling hair out updated the firmware and it solved it. One piece of good advise I will give you is After you issues are resolved, you should backup your configuration files to a safe place, in case you decide to mess around and thing get fubar, your NVR and cams have that option. Someplace here Andy has posted updated firmware(I think the download section) or you can go to the Dahua website and download it.

I'll check the cameras as well... all items came from Andy a week ago, I'm pretty sure the firmwares are all up to date.

Good advice on the config backup.. will do that for sure
