@adamg.
I seen those are some research on mounts. I found some slimmer universal mounts on amazon. I ordered those and will see how it turns out. Agree on the setup looking odd. Maybe I can get away with just one mounted lower. I’ve got 5 camera out front. Not trying to mount them all to the stucco for that 7ft height range.

See this thread for a slick lower installation method that has, IMO, a high WAF.

So I added a second camera on the opposite side of the garage. Its a Dahua camera HDBW5830R-Z. Got to look up the model. I purchased through Andy. The wife doesn't really want a camera mounted to the stucco. Is there drop down mounts I can purchase ?
Your camera placement is horrible, what are you trying to monitor if someone steals the plant/bush in front of the cam ? First cover your enter/exit then get a wide view.

Edit: my bad just read above your reply

In the event that someone else hasn't mentioned it (my bad: didn't read the entire topic through as usual), there is a light source -- or something reflecting light right back into your camera -- which isn't helping either (as shown below)...

Bottom line there mounted to high. I got some drop down mounts in the mail. They’ll lower the camera by 10.2 in. I’ve got the door/entry way covered. Just need to get the driveway covered properly.

That camera is a poor choice for low light/night performance.

Looking on Youtube at video clips one can never recognise faces.
Dishonest people always look down or away from cameras or have their faces covered.

That is incorrect. You can never recognize faces when using crappy cameras, bad camera angles/position/lenses or a combination. Lots of posts in this forum with great images.

I did lower the camera. Also used a 3mp darkfighter Hikvision in the last still picture. I’m waiting to see when Andy gets white version of the starlight. Or try some new 4mp Hikvision darkfighters.

If I had a better angle and position in the opening video I posted. I could’ve definitely captured a nice shot. The stranger walked right up to the doorway nonchalant.

you have a terrible camera angle and you either need more light or switch to IR.
No matter the camera you have, you need good resolution of 4MP or higher, multiple angles, as well as IR and non IR cameras.

Good 5K LED lighting also helps.

See attached pics from my cams. I have a mixture of cams from Hikvision, IneSun, and White Label IP cams.

I see this is an older post that I'm replying too, and hopefully you have your cams situated by now, but maybe someone else will come along and benefit.

Have a great day. Always stay safe and protected with the non blinking eye.

Hi @Amgclk65

PLEASE DO follow some of the great recommendations here.

Your cameras are mounted too high to cover the area immediately near the cameras.

"The wife doesn't really want a camera mounted to the stucco."

Get a friend to act as a prowler, wearing a baseball cap and hoodie during BOTH the day and at night - then show the video to your wife and ask her to ID that friend.

Then ask her if she could have ID'ed a stranger.

I can not stress this enough - you have to get a good angle on a face to have any decent chance of getting an ID shot.
