EDITED by Fenderman: The information below is NOT accurate. Alibi/Supercircuits, is a hikvision OEM, every part of the camera is made by hikvision in CHINA. Every bit of code is coded by hikvision in CHINA.

My home is not a federal facility, I imagine the Red Chinese don't care what my dogs do in my backyard, but call me redundantly paranoid ...
Hi @Timothy Wright

Note: IP cameras are rather powerful internet connected computers - and a proper compromise of them = an attacker controlling your internet connected computer, the value is typically your bandwidth and IP address and what it allows the cyberjacker to do with those resources, which for the owner is never good - as it may implicate you in a nasty crime and criminal charges - it typically is not pictures of your family or dogs as there is little value in those things. ( unless of course you are some sort of celeb )

I am in the process of updating my cameras for the second time and I wanted to share a source.

Alibi is a Texas company that sells Hikvision products only with a domestic BIOS and CMOS. Thus they are not covered under the ban on Hikvision products.

One can buy unbranded Alibi products from www.supercircuits.com and browse the full catalogue at www.alibisecurity.com .

In my 10 years experience I very much like their support and prices. To be honest I don't actually know how their image quality compares to other forum favorite brands for newer products. I suspect the image quality to be much like Hikvision cameras with the exact same physical specs.

My home is not a federal facility, I imagine the Red Chinese don't care what my dogs do in my backyard, but call me redundantly paranoid I just don't trust Chinese international versions of security products.

Cameras should be up and running by Friday the 4th. I'll post day and night 4x4 camera arrays, maybe a few solo cameras and folks can make up their own mind.

There are sayings from down south: "That dog will never hunt." or "That plow won't scour." I mean to find out for myself.

And share what I learn.
lol, This is simply NOT true. They have lied to you - you got scammed and now are promoting the scammer. Nothing is domestic. Alibi IS supercicuits, its their brand name for OEM hikvision.
WTF does a "domestic bios" and "domestic cmos" mean?. You have your facts wrong.
They are in fact covered by the hikvision "ban" which was a meaningless political move.
You are NOT any safer than using a hikivsion product which can be make just as safe as any other camera. In fact if you are foolish enough to expose the NVR or cameras to the net, you are LESS safe than using a hikvision branded camera because the OEM's are generally last in the firmware update line.
You paid for overpriced hikvision oem. Every single physical part on those cameras as well as every bit of code came direct from hikvision in china.
Feel free send them this post so they can explain their behavior. They lied to you which is shameful.
Why does your post have other misleading info about your "10 years experience" your experience is limited to 1 or 2 purchased kits. You know nothing about the pricing in this field .

In am well aware that Alibi is the same as Supercircuits. And it is possible that I have been lied to. I know someone who may be in a position to know, I'll ask him. If I lean anything I'll share what I learned.

Otherwise thank you for your help. I have ten years experience with my system, not in this industry, and I have never purchased a camera kit in my life, thank you.
wow, you just dont get it and are happy perpetuating your lies. It is not "possible" that you have been lied to, you have been lied to with 100 percent certainty. Despite being told that, you stand your ground.
So wait, you have 10 years of experience with a SINGLE TEN YEAR OLD SYSTEM - (likely a kit despite your lie, but irrelevant) yet you have the BALLS to state "In my 10 years experience I very much like their support and prices". Now it is evident that you have intentionally misled the users here. Shame on you.
