Hi,

Switching out my Cameras that do Motion only with IVS Cameras. Would this same camera location work reliably with tripwire for notifications?

Thanks,
David

Not an ideal location, would rather have the camera facing the visitor, its also a bit high.

To your direct question though, would IVS Tripwire function work here? Yes I would think so.

Thanks and I could move it to above the door and to the right so better view of people walking up to door. However, was trying to keep the camera from standing out when visitors come to the door.

Hi @Davahad

The current placement is great for watching the package drop area.. however very poor if you want or need a good ID image.

Ideally, you could keep this camera as it is, and add another camera low and facing the visitors, like a doorbell camera location.

I find having the camera in view induces an almost impossible to ignore urge to look straight at it, which I appreciate ;)

In my local airport they have inducements specifically to make you look at the cameras in some choke-points. Theres a circle of LEDs around the lens a bit like IR LEDs on a bullet cam but these are visible LEDs with only 1 lit at a time racing around in a circle. The movement really draws the eye effectively.

If you have problems with Tripwire not catching people leaving the door (because by the time the camera has recognized the movement and classified it as an object, they’ve already crossed the tripwire line), you might try drawing an Intrusion box and set all of the options (enter/exit, and “appears”). That will cover the situation when the object is detected late.
