Andy,
I want to set up a camera system for 8 cameras now, with the possibility of going to 16 in the future. If possible, id like 16 ports, all with POE. I don't think i'll need too many bells and whistles. I don't plan on having any super hi def cameras. I want to mainly access this from my android phone. Which NVR should i buy?

All models carrying the "-16P" do have 16 physical ports with PoE. The surplus cost from a 8P to 16P is marginal. I personally have 5216-16P-4KS2 and works great!

that is the model i was looking at. Does it work well accessing from a smartphone?
If you install the (now) free iDMSS/gDMSS plus version, you can watch all channels, in mosaic or full screen. Push notifications also work (eg. in link with IVS). Playback is clonky on a small screen, but doable. To browse timelines and download clips, I do prefer SmartPSS on pc.

Hope this helps!

Hi Andy,
I’m new here, and in the USA. I am looking for an 8 or 16 channel NVR and like the Dahua N52B2P / N52B3P models. Do you sell them? It looks like you have the same equipment as the USA versions but with different model numbers. What would your equivalent models be and can you provide a link to them with price/shipping info?

Thank you.

HI Cuz,

Look at the NVR5216-16P-4KS2E model he has. See his profile for his store links.

Thanks, I sent him a PM. That is the NVR I will order as soon as I can figure out what cameras I want to order with it. I would like to order the NVR and a couple of sample cams to play with and help me decide on the rest of the cameras I need.

So I was looking on Andy's site and I dont see a NVR5216-16P-4KS2E.

I do see a nvr5216-16p-4ks2 but it doesn't have an "e" on the end of it.

Also it seems I seen a post about the dahua nvrs no longer functioning with English firmware dahua cams with the latest updates? Ive been looking for this post but cant find it. Maybe I'm mistaken. But if I did see that, is buying a dahua dvr even a good option?

Only can't support those hacked English camera models, it's easy to know if they are original english or not, just make a search on dahua international website.

I would buy one that has lots of room to add more cameras. You never know when you want to add more.

I got the NVR5232-16P-4KS2E I think 32 ch is plenty enough... :)
