so I have my modem, router and cell signal extender in my spare bedroom. I want to keep it all there, but I want to view my cameras in my master bedroom on my TV. The question is, do I run HDMI from the NVR to the TV or do I put the NVR in my bedroom and run a cat5 to the modem?

I’m completely a novice so any help is appreaciated.

But then you can't sleep because of the noisy and hot NVR in your master bedroom :) I had to make this crucial decision too, but if you wake up at night, have to turn on your TV, look for the mouse on the NVR, switch to HDMI5, your house is already emptied :) If you have, just like me, a tablet flying around you whilst travelling in the house, it is much easier and faster to take the tablet, have g/iDMSS launched and hoppa.

But that's personal off course :)

I’ve decided to go with the nvr in my spare room. I will run hdmi, it’s not far and only separated by a hallway

Good choice, however, I would, in any case, if possible off course, run an additional ethernet cable before closing up the walls. Why? If, for any reasons, you change your mind, and/or want to hook up an additional device (eg rasp pi), you have already everything you need :)

It’s exciting I like new projects. Especially when I have to do tons of research. This one fits the bill

@Mike
So far so good I got two up in the soffit one doing garage door and driveway, one doing side door to garage and patio door. One on the wall above the front door ( this one I think i need to lower)
And a third doing the back of the house and the bilco door. The first three were black the back one is white. I much prefer the black it’s a lot less obtrusive imho. I built a quick fake bird house to hide the white one but I think I need to tweak it. I might take it down and durokote it brown. As of now you cannot really approach the house without being on camera. I still have two more that I need to find a place for.

Somewhere in the space/time continuum
You can do it, get a fiberglass fishtape pole to help.

Take your time, and focus on doing it correctly, not on how fast you can get finished.
Baby steps.

Just an FYI. You can get an almost indentical rod set from Harbor Freight for about $10.00. Of course, that's if you have one close by.

So birdhouse is no good as it is now. During day it’s perfect but at night the IR must reflect off the cut out and it washes out the whole picture.
