A friend is looking to get the Hikvision 8 channel NVR (DS-7608NI-E2/8P-1TB) and multiple WBox IP bullet cameras. The problem is, I can't find much information on the WBox cameras. Do they offer special features such as being able to record by motion in a zone, line cross tripping, etc? Also, I read on one of the threads that if the camera is not the same manufacturer as the NVR then the special triggers will not work and the NVR will only do basic scheduled recordings over Onvif. Does the WBox have special features and will they work with the Hikvision NVR?

Also, does anyone know if you can change the recording sensitivity of cameras based on time (ex: less sensitive at night) using the above Hikvision NVR?

Thanks

W-Box is ADI's house brand, OEMed from Hikvision, e.g., our test report unlocked ADI's Disruptive W Box Tested

They are effectively the same manufacturer, just different labels.
Awesome, thanks for the quick response and article. So does that mean the "smart event" record features will work with the Hikvision NVR? The video in that article showed multiple pages of the menus but not the event recording ones. Also, the image under the VMS Integration had a comment that motion was not available over Onvif.

In the past year or so, ADI switched from Hikvision to Sunell as their primary W-Box video surveillance supplier. This may be why the ones you bought don't work with the Hikvision app.
