Hi, I have 4 cameras 3 PoE and 1 WiFi , this is about one of the PoE

Cameras as follows with firmware levels

#1 DS-2CD2142FWD-IWS V5.5.0
#2 DS-2DE3304W V5.5.3
#3 DS-2CD2142FWD-I V5.5.0
#4 DS-2CD2185FWD-I V5.5.5

Internally all 4 work fine on iVMS-4200 and IE11 with WebVideoPlugin
Standard ports 80 and 8000

I have mapped router to portforward incoming ports :101 :102 :103 :104 to port 80 on internal ip's
I have mapped router to portforward incoming ports :8001 :8002 :8003 :8004 to port 8000 on internal ip's

Ok so externally here is what we have
All 4 work remotely on iVMS-4500 on an ipad port 8000
All 4 work remotely on ipcamera on an ipad port 80
Cameras #1, #2, #3 work remotely using IE11 with WebVideoPlugin (different PC)

However Camera #4 refuses to show video , instead I get "Live view failed" , I can do most actions on the configurations tab except anything which loads the small video windowm which fails for same reason as live view or Play Back tabs

All my settings are identical on all 4 cameras, checked and double checked.
I have tried reducing the cameras resolution, tried using tcp, http and udp.
You name I tweaked it, then tweaked it back.
I tried several levels of the plugin, right now its on 3.6.33

So the only difference apart from resolution of this camera is the firmware is at V5.5.5

Can I live with it , yes of course. But I'm puzzled why this 1 camera behaves differently remotely.

Any suggestions.

Thanks Alan

There's a good chance that 3 of your cams have used UPnP to open their RTSP ports, and the 4th one has not, and that your port 8001-8004 -> 8000 forwards aren't even being used. The camera's web interface likely isn't trying to use port 8000 and even if it did, it would not know which external ports you mapped them to.

Regardless, it is very unwise to port forward a camera or to allow UPnP to be enabled. See: How to Secure Your Network (Don't Get Hacked!) | IP Cam Talk

Interesting thought, I for sure have UPnP switched off on all 4 cameras, unless it was on by default I wouldn't have switched it on.
I'll need to double check the router to make sure it's off. If there were any UPnP ports opened on the router (BT Home Hub6) they must be hidden, I'll need to google a bit and see if thats possible.

UpNP is on by default as I recall in some of the software releases.

How does wifi work for your camera?
Is it ok constant streaming and getting video.

I have some blank spots I didnt wire in & contemplating wifi.

Check the local configuration of the 3 that are working against the 1 that isn't, specifically the protocol.

I've just fixed the Live View on one of mine simply by changing the camera protocol from UDP to TCP.

[edit] I just noticed you were getting the Live View Failed pop-up - I only got that on my camera when the protocol was set to Multicast or HTTP
