Hi,

Does anyone know if there is an URL for a snapshot from the Sub Stream for the DH-IPC-HFW1435SP?

I tried http://IP/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi?stream=1 and http://IP/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi?stream=2 but every variable I tried simply returns a snapshot from the primaire feed (which is high res and I'm looking for a smaller filesize/lower resolution snapshot).

Thanks!

Well I did find something, I logged on to my cam itself and checked to see if the sub stream was enabled. It was enabled however I went to video-->setup-->snapshot and saw it stays at the mainstream resolution. If I went back to the mainstream video settings and turned it down to 720p, the snapshot would show up at 720p. Seems the cam itself does not let you set a substream snapshot setting. I have a New Construction site with two cams doing snapshots 4 times a hour but I have been using the main stream only for this.

I also tested your http commands, I use http://ip/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi?1 2 or 0 and still get hi res. Would be handy to figure this out out.
I tried a few as well on a camera that I had a few minutes to play with - plus some 'onvifsnapshot' commands I found in the firmware - and all of them also gave the full res image, mainstream.

And I noticed another odd thing as well on this IPC-DHW1320S camera which I was just setting up for my local Mens Shed - the ONVIF authentication is admin/admin despite the web GUI admin password being changed to other than the default.
On a cursory look didn't see any separate user configuration for ONVIF.
Firmware DH_IPC-HX1X2X-Themis_Eng_P_V2.600.0005.0.R.20161219.bin

Seems the cam itself does not let you set a substream snapshot setting.
Interesting. That does sound like a bug then.

Me thinks that onvif bug has been talked about here someplace before. The Cams Im using are USA Dahua. Im thinking its time to let Dahua support earn their $$$ and see what they say about the snapshot issue.
