NVR DS-7608NI-12/8P FW V4.1.70 Build 181227

Cameras DS-2DE3304 FW 5.5.5 Build 180209

Live view screen bottom right NEW icon " AUX Monitor " with this FW version.

Previous Version V4.1.61 didn't have AUX Monitor option I asked support twice what this option was for and both times no real answer.

NVR has 4 IP cameras connected via POE Bonding D1 D2 D3 D4

NVR on UPS and Video Output set to HDMI 4K (3840*2160)/60HZ

Once selected all control of NVR LOST until web log in and reboot is performed. Hikvison USA Tech Support useless both phone and E-mail

4 DS-2DE3304 cameras still show live video BUT mouse and or remote control is lost.

Last question support asked me was to make sure cam FW was up to date WHAT a JOKE considering the recent Build on their site is more than a year old.

B and H Camera NY has a better support staff than HikVision All cameras are running 5.5.5 which is two builds newer than Hikvision US site.

Love the hardware despise the Hikvison support!

HIKVISION does not really do end-user support. The normally do not sell to end-users. Support comes from the company you purchased it from. If you purchased on Amazon or Ebay try contacting the seller on those sites.

Your max band with is on 80M. Are you exceeding the input of the NVR. Calculate your input bad with.

As a NEWB read the wiki and the cliff notes in the blue bar at the top of the page.

Appreciate the response.

Before posting I searched for these two devices and found nothing relating to them on this forum, I read for almost an Hour. If I missed something in the WIKI or cliff notes forgive me nothing came up when I search them using the model numbers.

B & H is my place of purchase and is a authorized dealer or reseller. They were closed Friday when I called so I called Hikvision.

NEWB on this site but far from Newbie using IP Cameras and their setups.

Camera total bandwidth is 66Mbps or 16.5Mbps x 4 cameras

So in a round about way you're saying you have no idea what the AUX Monitor option could be?

Thanks Again,

Previous Version V4.1.61 didn't have AUX Monitor option I asked support twice what this option was for and both times no real answer.
Presumably the built-in help text hasn't been updated to explain?

Some snippets from the User manual :
• Aux Monitor: the NVR checks the connection of the output interfaces to define the main and
auxiliary output interfaces. The priority level for the main and aux output is HDMI1/VGA1>
HDMI2/VGA2 (for DS-9600NI-I8, DS-8600NI-I8 and DS-9600NI-I16) and HDMI > VGA (for
DS-7600NI and DS-7700NI).
DS-9600NI-I8, DS-8600NI-I8 and DS-9600NI-I16: When the HDMI1, HDMI2, VGA1 and VGA2 are
all connected, the HDMI1/VGA1 is used as main output and the HDMI2/VGA2 is used as the aux
output.
DS-7600NI and DS-7700NI: When both the HDMI and VGA are connected, the HDMI is used as
main output and the VGA is used as the aux output.
When the aux output is enabled, the main output cannot perform any operation, and you can do
some basic operation on the live view mode for the Aux output.
Press Main/Aux button to Switch between main and aux output
Aux Monitor
Switch to the auxiliary output mode and the operation for the main output is disabled.
If you enter Aux monitor mode and the Aux monitor is not connected, the mouse operation
is disabled; you need to switch back to the Main output with the MAIN/AUX button on the
front panel or remote.
3.2.3 Using an Auxiliary Monitor
Certain features of the Live View are also available while in an Aux monitor. These features
include:
 Single Screen: Switch to a full screen display of the selected camera. Camera can be selected
from a dropdown list.
 Multi-screen: Switch between different display layout options. Layout options can be selected
from a dropdown list.
 Next Screen: When displaying less than the maximum number of cameras in Live View, clicking
this feature will switch to the next set of displays.
 Playback: Enter into Playback mode.
 PTZ Control: Enter PTZ Control mode.
73Network Video Recorder User Manual

Main Monitor: Enter Main operation mode.

Great Info Thank You

No User Input Buttons on this model and I tried Every button on the remote, even logging into WEG GUI Nothing other than change the resolution which has the same effect as a reboot work.

If the remote has that option I cannot see it.

Did a search on my model manual and AUX Monitor has Zero response I down loaded it within the past few months
Documents/um_nvr_4.0_111717na.pdf

I'll look again on the Hikvison site.

I understand from my own reading and experience they do write in options which don't all apply in all devices. They In my opinion screwed the pooch on this one because the only option is to reboot if an AUX Monitor is not being used.

Just my luck because mine is in the video server closet and I use HDBASE T 1 to Many to save my hearing from the fan noise and be able to view security from any TV.

Great site I think, looking forward to more discussions.

Thanks Again,
Bill

When speaking with them several months after another Update I asked why does using the START ALL DAY Continuous RECORDING option which is now next to the new Aux Monitor icon... Stop EVENT recordings after stopping All day continuous recordings. I only record movement.

It sounds like it.
When this :

Does your HDMI monitor also have a VGA input? To run another cable to. I wonder what resolution the VGA would use when set as AUX.

No, I don't believe it does, 70 inch 4K UHD Samsung on the wall upstairs. If by chance it did I'd need another convertor to access it. I only installed 2 coax and 8 cat 6 lan cables I wish I threw in a HDMI. I'll call B & H on Monday and post any worth while information.

Again I appreciate the info.

Another subject that may help someone The gofanco 1 to Many 4k UHD 60Hz HDMI using HDNET Base T extender has way too much lag or delay if using a mouse. I had ordered it to send security over private IP network around house. AV Access makes an excellent HDMI 4K UHD @ 60 Hz extender over Cat cable. But only one device.

Thanks Again!

Contacted B and H and they set up a call with Hikvison who after a 10 minute call said they will send the info to product support.
